We have seen some refreshingly good performances by young players in these playoffs in Eastern Conference. The likes of the Raptors, Bucks, Celtics and 76ers have much to thank their youngsters for their advantageous position in their playoff series. These are quality Rookie Contracts that don't cost 2 million a year. Raptors: Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby Bucks: Brogdon, Connaughton Every team has quality rookie contracts. Celtics/Lakers have tons of quality Rookie Contracts that are in the current trade market. Shall we trade Capela & draft picks for quality Rookie Contracts? Do it, DM. Go Rockets!
DM Will do whatever it takes when the time is right. The Rockets have been in contention ever since he’s been at the helm, and I don’t see us going in another direction but upward. Go Rockets!
We need new Jimmy Butler max contract? How can you manage 3 max contracts drift? EG wants good money.
So your idea is to get some good players? Preferably if they are young and not too expensive? This is a good plan! Someone should let Morey know to do this with all of the draft picks and cap flexibility we have!
Three of those four teams suuuuuuuuuuuuucked hard to get those great rookie contracts. Are you ready for 2-5 years of completely sucking?
Spoiler Rockets trade their picks for scrubby veterans or to get under the LT. And Daryl is a subpar drafter. ("but but but he never has high first round picks!" Not about having high first round picks or rebuilding. Spurs, Warriors, to a lesser degree Raptors, maybe some others I'm missing, have made a living drafting in the bottom half of the first, finding contributors.) "but but but the Rockets are always in win-now mode!" Yeah, so are other teams. When he's not trading the pick for veteran help, only Clint Capela has received a 2nd contract. 2019 1st traded for Iman Shumpert 2nd traded for Pablo Prigioni (traded; later waived) 2018 1st traded for Chris Paul 2nd(De'Anthony Melton) traded to dump Ryan Anderson for Brandon Knight & Marquese Chriss (who were traded with a 1st for Iman Shumpert) 2-52: Vince Edwards (bought from the Jazz) 2nd traded for Shawn Long (waived) 2017 1st traded for Lou Williams (traded for Chris Paul) 2-43: Isaiah Hartenstein 2nd traded to Memphis for future 2nd 2nd traded for Pablo Prigioni (traded; later waived) 2016 1st traded for Ty Lawson (waived) 2-37 Chinanu Onuaku (traded for Maarty Leunen) 2-43 Zhou Qi (waived) 2015 1-18 Sam Dekker (traded for Chris Paul) 1st traded to dump Jeremy Lin 2-32 Montrezl Harrel (traded for Chris Paul) 2nd traded for K.J. Wont matter.. As soon as he misses a defensive assignment in the playoffs, we'll never see him again until Summer League..
I was right there with you until you said trade Capela …. You don't want to be the guy trading for those players , You wanna be the guy who drafted them ….. and it hard to do that when you don't patriciate in the draft.
