Exactly, Mike Miller ain't doing anything for the Grizzlies. He needs Yao and McGrady to be healthy. We would just be the Houston Grizzlies with Miller shouldering the load. We might not even make the playoffs with Mike Miller, instead of Scola and Landry. When Yao went down, those 2 guys kept us going.

he is also a good piece for atlanta. :( maybe we should have seen what we could have gotten luther in atlanta. they had a bunch of great players like childress. i remember several posters wanting to trade head for him.

atlanta is in good position for the future. most of their players aren't close to their prime, and they have no reason to start trading them away, unless their like the bulls and want to save some money.

Our line up would still be weak, except we would be even shorter in the Playoffs.

Our Game 1 lineup against the Jazz without Landry and Scola, would be even shorter. Boozer and Okur would get even more rebounds over our midgets.

    Artest lineup

    Deke
Artest(no back up PF, unless you count Novak)
    Battier
    T-Mac
    Bobby Jackson

    Mike Miller lineup

    Deke
    Battier
    Mike Miller
    T-Mac
    Bobby Jackson

It's nice to have more shooting, but there is no front court scoring, rebounding, or defense. Battier can't handle Boozer. We get tore up on the boards even more and get swept this year. Battier and Miller's 4 rebounds a game can't make up for Scola and Landry's 8-9 rebounds.

I'd think an Artest trade would be Shane + Brooks deal. I agree with you about rebounding, but then you have to remember Yao would have helped enormously. IIRC, Artest is a good rebounder at the SF spot, moreso than Shane. I think Artest could possibly light a fire under Tmac as well, with his passion for the game.

they do have a good reason

all of them are approaching resigning status

Marvin Williams, Josh Childress, all of them.

    And a certain
    Josh Smith :D

gotta sign two and get rid of one.

I think we should keep the team intact with the exception of luther head, loren woods, bobby jackson, steve francis, and mutombo. Head, jackson, and francis all have expiring contracts, maybe we can get something for them.

We should bring bonzi wells back as the 2/3 backup, let aaron brooks be the backup pg, and go after a veteran pf/c who can play a little defense and hit the outside shot. In the draft id go for the best player available regardless of position. The only way id trade shane or scola/landry would be for a a guy like ben gordon who is young, can slash and hit the open jumper, he'd be the ideal 6th man, or a corey maggete who isnt afraid to take the ball to the rim.

Anybody who suggests trading Scola or Landry gets a slap in the face. Also we should keep Brooks and let him develop, he has tremendous potential.

If you look at the other dominant teams in the west, they all have a 3rd all-star calibur player ----ginobli or parker, lamar odom, Peja, Okur or Kirilanko ---- but we dont. I think we need to trade expiring contracts and maybe some young talent (unfortunately) and get a disgruntled all star on a mediocre team. Maybe a Mike Redd, Richard jeff, Artest or Mike Miller.
We just need a 3rd guy that can create his own shot.

The team that have Yao and T-Mac with Scola starting beat The Spurs, destroy the NOLA in their home, we already beat the Sun even without Yao, and withou Yao and Rafer playing for 3 1/2 games one at Home and 3 on the Road vs the best home team, we got a 2-2.

We got no Yao, Rafer for 3 1/2 games in one leg, Battier with a bad ankle, Landry not 100% and we still took th Jazz to 6 games with horrific officiating that cost us at least 1 game.

This current squad + and big swing mand that can shoot and a backup center is good enough to any team in the NBA. I say ANY TEAM.

Next year Suns, will be worst. (HOUSTON better)
Next year Dallas, will be worst. (HOUSTON better)
Next year NOLA, not better. (HOUSTON better)
Next year Jazz, not better. (HOUSTON better)
Next year Spurs, not better (HOUSTON equal, you never count them out in playoff)

Only the Lakers have the potential to be better that current Lakers (HOUSTON can be equal)

If we as the NOLA team play their players 70+ games a year, like this year. We will be a top 2 seed and don't have to play the Lakers until the WCF.

Did you saw how we played with Yao in the lineup and started to play Adelman ball. We look unstoppable. If team play us one on one Yao and T-Mac go for crazy number, if they decide to double Yao and T-Mac we got five to six players in double figures.

This current team healthy is an elite team.

Stop over reacting over a series that we have no change to win even before it started.

But I'm use to the level of knowledge in this message board, after seeing almost half of the voters say Manu > T-Mac, that just tell me the Basketball ignorance of Bipolar fans in Houston.

Hopefully Brooks gets good enough that Bobby Jackson becomes expendable. I also want to give Rafer a full season to see if he finally has put it together in Adelman's system, or just had a good late run. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that he is a point guard in the Billups and Andre Miller mode, that peaks very late.

Dont give me this Artest passion garbage. He missed a ton of games this year for silly little injuries. He played that one great game against us, where he killed the fourth quarter. But his team still lost and most of the season the guy was a ballhog or whiner.

Peja cannot create his own shot to save his life. He just stands at the 3pt line and waits for CP3 to pass him the ball.

uhhh Artest got nothing on Mad Max Veron Maxwell. He's the guy who clocked a teammate "Carl Herrera with dumbells" and he's the guy who ran into the stands the first time to fight with some fans. Only back then they didn't make such a big deal about it. Artest is a pussycat compared to Vernon Maxwell. Artest is a good teammate if you listen to Reggie Theus who desparately wants Artest to stay.

Anyone know why standstill so called specialist like mike miller struggles in the playoffs? If u can't create and play tough, u struggle. Miller struggle in Orlando when tracy was the best wing in hoopd. Get Artest and everything else is gravy.Stop getting these soft standstill guys. Haven't we had enough of that?

I like the idea of Mike Miller coming in and backing up McGrady.

    Rafer is good.

    Battier is good.

    Scolandry is good.

I also like the idea of bringing in Caron Butler.

I rather have Caron Butler than Mike Miller.

Caron Butler has a lot of upside.

I would say no to Ron Artest. Ron Artest = Cancer.

What do you think of the Rockets working out a sign and trade deal with the Sixers for Iguodala?
