Everything is fluid but I agree. Absolutely. His stats are good. His advanced stats are really good. His eye test (if you can look past the Chris Kaman physique) is great. Guy is a baller. Would start him over ariza because he is better. Plays the 3 well and plays the smallball 4 well.
Don't know about Ariza as Trevor main role is D but he is better than Dekker so would upgrade our bench. Agreed
Well I have only watched about 10 Utah games all year but his defense is solid to very good. His defensive metrics are fantastic and outshine ariza by a lot. Again that's with Utah's amazing defense and our lackluster defense. Like i said I haven't watched enough games to know the schemes and how great he is but his numbers are flattering.
That's one thing, but imagine Ingles and Bev together in a lineup. They are both annoying AF on the defensive side. We'd have 2 wolverines on the team.
They may not though if another team offers him a crazy deal. Gobert's huge extension kicks in next season, Hayward can opt out and will demand a max deal, Hill is a free agent and will be looking for one final fat contract, and then next summer, the Jazz have to worry about resigning or replacing Favors, Diaw, Exum, Johnson, and Hood. No way will a small market team like Utah be able to hold onto all of those guys.
Definitely, but is Ingles worth a crazy deal? I'd say no. They do have a lot of money to spend in a year from now though, like you said...i guess they will see what happens with Hayward first, imo, if he stays, they'll look to keep all the other guys and they'll trade Favors, if Hayward runs away i don't know... ...and will be 30 by the next season starts. That's a big reason why i think nobody is going to make a crazy offer. And don't get me wrong, i like the player and i think he would be good here, but no way i see (at least) Morey throw a 15x4 to Ingles -> unless we make other major moves.
Ingles doesn't rely on athleticism though. He could easily play at this level for another 3-4 years. As for crazy deals, have you seen the kind of money that was thrown around last summer? Guys who had no business being paid 8 figures were getting huge contracts. Ingles actually has an impressive body of work(albeit a brief one) that he and his agent can parlay into a huge payday in July.
