I was going to say that. LOL. Exact same step back like Harden's.

Lillard knew exactly what he wanted to do from the beginning. he waited all the way to the 3 second mark to make his move and he was way out there. he loathed pg13 to give him space which he did and just put up a shot hes been hitting all series long.

oh hell nah, this mothafcka really made a top 5 players list and didn’t include James Harden...this article is obsolete and needs to be tossed in the trash, and then that trash can needs to be set on fire

Playoff Dame da GOAT and Lillard is a top 5 player...all statements that no one was saying Monday, but is fact on Tuesday...tired of this recency bias

That game winner is the most swaggy shot I’ve ever seen...

Blazers are now a dark horse in my opinion. How ironic would it be if Rockets get past Dubs but lose to Blazers in WCF. Kinda like how the Rockets finally overcame the Supersonics in ‘97 only to lose to the Jazz in the WCF.

For some odd reason Portland is Houston’s kryptonite (at least, in the games I’ve seen).

That's fair, i do think George is the better player overall, even though Butler is a better handler/passer imo.

You are right about the bad players but every team has bad players. The warriors had Kevon Looney starting some games early in the season, they were still winning games. The **** the spurs barely had a roster, no point guard and at times were better than OKC. Your Houston Rockets had games where it was James and a bunch of scrubs, still got wins. OKC has enough talent to be better than a six seed and get gentleman swept out of the first round playoffs for the third consecutive year, coaching matters.

Also some props to Kanter. Dude played the game with a separated shoulder, took an injection shot and said F it im gonna keep playing. Definitely not many players these days that would play through that

James Harden hot takes are the fuel for NBA journalists. Low hanging fruit.

if we're talking about someone like Noel, Looney is a much better player. His iq alone makes him the choice. I wouldn't even consider Looney a bad player. he understands his role and doesn't try to do anything outside of that. That in itself makes him a good player. The worst players believe they're something they are not.

talent alone doesn't just make you a better basketball player. People are fooled into believing that solely makes what a good player really is

    Bad defense by PG there.

There is 1 or 2 second left. He should have been all over Lillard to force him to drive. He needed to make Lillard go sideways. The motion to drive and those extra steps wold have resulted in a hurried or off balance shot with the amount of time on the clock.

He gave Lillard too much space.

Granted he was far oof from the basket, but with the series in the line, you dont even give them an open look for a Hail Mary at that point.

He let luck decide the outcome and got unlucky.

    Player #1
    2019 - tbd
2018 - swept to NOP in 1st round
2017 - swept to GSW in 1st round
2016 - lost in 5 to GSW in 2nd round
2015 - lost in 5 to MEM in 1st round
2014 - lost in 5 to SAS in 2nd round

    Player #2
    2019 - tbd
2018 - lost in 7 to GSW in WCF
2017 - lost in 6 to SAS in 2nd round
2016 - lost in 5 to GSW in 1st round
2015 - lost in 5 to GSW in WCF
2014 - lost in 6 to POR in 1st round

The numbers are clear - Player #1 is easily top 5 in the NBA. How is this not more obvious? Matter of fact, what's with the comparison with Player #2? He's not even top 15.
    Sarcasm (just in case :))

Portland is not our kryptonite. Yes, we were 1-2 against them this season, but the first loss was during our disastrous 1-5 start(aka the Melo Error) and the second loss was at Portland when we were without CP3 and Gordon. And BTW, Nurkic went off for 25 and 15 that night. Guess who wouldn't be available in the WCF if the Rockets meet the Blazers?

Now I do think it would be a tough series if the two teams faced off. First of all, Portland would have home court and they were 32-9 there in the regular season(3-0 in the playoffs so far). But the loss of Nurkic is huge. He's one of those big-bodied centers who gives Capela trouble. Kanter, as well as he's playing, would not be a problem. And second, if the Rockets do get past the Warriors, they're likely to be taxed physically and mentally, so it's possible they have very little left in the tank unless Denver can make Portland work hard to advance past the Semifinals.

Lol, one good 1st round in 3 years after two 1st round sweeps, against a team that was the 8th seed until the last hours of the season and that got already kicked out by the Jazz and his rookie leader one year ago, and Lillard is suddenly a top 5 player...such a dumb opinion, and i like Lillard, he's probably a top 10 player in the league, top 5? No way, otherwise the Blazers would've been something better than a perennial 4th seed bound to a 1st round exit.

Portland doesn’t match up well with Denver. Doubt they make it past them.

That's what I've been afraid since the playoffs started. You know the 2nd round is gonna be a dog fight. If the Rockets do get past GSW, and if they're able to keep the same intensity and focus in the WCF and Finals, there's no stopping them. But they cannot have the mindset of "ahhhh, we did it! we dethroned GSW! We're champions!" That thought process is gonna screw them over.

100% agree, and that's why coaching is so important. Donovan is a good college coach, probably and incredible high school coach, just roll he ball out there. As an nba coach he hasn't shown me that he can manage personalities, determine a successful team dynamic, or even display passion. He's a recruiter, just like Calipari
