Down by 3 and the Blazers draw up plays to get a quick 2 with a guy that hasn't played all game and some bench scrub....brilliant
Stotts tried to get cute with his plays there...should have just gave it to CJ or Lillard and played off that obviously...
not only that , it was the 2nd time in a row for a quick 2. THey didn't have any timeouts either. With the suffocating pels defense in transition that had stripped the a catch and shoot was the best option. ****ing morons.
Guys, I got news for you: Pels barely won this despite Lillard and McCollum shooting 13/41. Lucky win that will do nothing more than extend the series.
There's no such thing as a "lucky win" on the road in the playoffs. It's a hell of a win. Especially to take game 1 on the road.
No, it wasn't that amazing the entire game. McCollum has been dog meat for the last 2 weeks. If he rounds back into form, Blazers will be fine. If he doesn't, Pels have a great chance to win the series. I don't trust the Pels at all. They crumble late when teams put pressure on them. But those two defensive plays by Jru Holiday were special (even though they happened because of very poor judgement on the part of McCollum first, then Lillard). We will find out what the Blazers are made of. If they don't bring it back to Portland tied 2-2 and end up losing the series, it's time to take a stick of dynamite to that roster. I still expect the Blazers to win in 6 or 7.
Kudos to New Orleans on stealing game 1. If anyone knows how hard it is to beat Portland in Portland, it’s Houston. The Pelicans have a real shot at the series now, AD has a chance to take the next leap in his advancement. One thing that popped into my head while watching the game tho, could you imagine Paul George on this Pelicans team next year?? Sheeeesh. I know it’s not gonna happen and I don’t even know if it would work salary wise with AD, Cousins, and George, but man that’d be lethal.
If Paul George wants to join AD, Pels should drop Cousins like a hot potato (he's unrestricted). Their record this season without him is better than with him.
