Yao Ming has not gotten enough touches. Their guards really can not get him the ball. I feel bad for the guy.
I missed the start of the game, but I am watching from now on. First time I get to see Ming. He had a great block and a nice dunk, but other than that, I haven't seen too much of him yet. He doesn't look THAT tall to me...my first impression is that he is quite mobile for his size, but not nearly as mobile as Dirk. Ming doesn't seem to get the ball enough. Dirk is dominating the game. 45-31 for Germany at halftime.
Bateer is quite strong, but all other players except Ming and Bateer seem to suck on the Chinese team. The German team is much more balanced, there are a few guys who I think could make it in the NBA - Okulaja (a hustling SF/PF type player who played at North Carolina, I think), Pesic (son of the Yugoslavian coach, SG/SF type player with a nice shot, but a little weak) and Femerling, who also played in the US in college (I think he played for the Huskies). In fact, I think Femerling would probably not play worse than Cato. Ming is quite active now. Actually, there is one guy on the Chinese team who seems to be a good 3-point shooter...Hu Wei Dong or so. Ming arguing with the referee now. They say he stepped out of bounds. He is definitely a defensive presence in the paint.
Alley-oop dunk by Nowitzki. Foul against Ming by Femerling, I could hear Ming scream. Ming makes both free throws. Ming has a little habit of holding one of his arms with the other one. I don't know if he has an injury or something? Somehow I suspect that if Ming challenges Nowitzki, he will get dunked on.
Nice pass by Ming, but the Chinese guy missed. Nowitzki and Ming are sometimes matched up against each other. Nice move by Ming after a nice pass by Bateer. Bateer is really strong. I think he is also better than Cato.
