True. Anyone complaining about how good he is or has been has their head firmly planted up their own rear. Right now he's amazing. Plain and simple.
This is JJ's second game against Romo? Would be nice to get a three sack game in . He is due for a big one. I think those will happen when Clowney gets back against Pittsburgh though.
Wait, how the F did Watt not win another one in week 1? That was arguably his greatest performance ever.
Wake had two strip sacks against a preceived better opponent (NE). My guess is JJ will get the award for the month, though.
broke his own record Sunday J.J Watt, DE: +15.2 Breakdown: We expected an exciting battle between the league’s premier defensive player and the right side of the Baltimore offensive line, but in the end it was a battle won easily by Watt. Spending most of his time going up against the right tackles, he gave Ricky Wagner plenty to think about before he left the game injured. After the injury to Wagner, Watt would be up against rookie undrafted free agent James Hurst, and the result was as you would expect, with Watt finding success against him as a pass rusher throughout. Signature Play: Q2, 3:50 remaining. On the Flacco interception, it was Watt who applied the early pressure, beating left tackle Eugene Monroe to the outside, drawing a holding penalty in the process. here is the top 14 pff scores for a 3-4 DE. Watt owns all but 3.
Honestly, if he doesn't get the MVP, they should just explain that defensive players aren't eligible for the award.
Don't set yourself up for disappointment. He is not going to win and I don't think he deserves to win. You could argue that Foster is more VALUABLE (not better) to this team than Watt.
Depends on if you view it as the Most Best Player, or the Most Indispensable Player On a Playoff Team
