Was that a video or just story quote, moes? I'd like to see that and repost on my FaceGramChatBooks. I disagree. I believe that the no-knee or no-helmet hits are designed to prevent injury to the player in the game who isn't looking to run, block, or tackle anyone. I can see that the rule effectively asks for defenders, especially Defensive Ends, to appropriately bring down the player with the ball in his grasp or without being "defenseless." Would I like that to be changed, ABSOLUTELY. Do I think that, based on how the rule is stated, it was appropriately given to Watt? Of course. I like the BAN-hammer request. Nice.
The only time I recall listening to Cowherd before was in 2005 when he said VY was a horrible quarterback and UT should replace him. I like where this is going.
If Watt played in NYC, he would literally be already fitted for a bust in Canton... and only then will he possibly be considered as overrated. As it is, he gets a ton of attention despite playing in a non-Dallas/non-Northeastern market... and I think the media is skeptical simply because he would have to be THAT good to warrant the attention he gets from Houston. Well, newsflash... he is THAT good.
Meh according to Cowherd he has 2 sacks, is 161st in tackles and isn't a 100 million dollar player. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=11612976 Starting at ~ 14:00
Clowney ran on the field yesterday before the game and said he's 2 weeks away. Looks like he's taking his rehab very seriously which is great to see.
I believe he said that during the offseason after his breakout year. ND has been very high on watt. Only a troll/idiot like cowherd can't see that.
I'd like to see him back for Indy...but the fact that it's a Thursday night game makes me think he'll miss that too. I hope Im wrong, but I think his first game back will be the Monday nighter against the Steelers on October 20th.
Two personal fouls, can't control his gap assignment, 2nd best DE playing for the Texans. Now Crick knows how do it.
Yea if Watt is so good how come he has only 2 TDs on the season? That's the worst among all starting QBs in the NFL.
I dont get this "experts". the "experts" praise Richard Sherman when gets 0 passes defended, 0 tackles, 0 ints, but when Watt gets 0 tackles and 0 sacks, then he is overrated.
Here's the Kalu comment: http://www.sports790.com/media/podc...u/texans-vs-bills-recap-free-agents-25357404/
This post is misleading because it is only the highest grade at his position and defensive scheme. Robert Quinn has had a game with higher grades. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/05/15/the-pff-101-no-2-robert-quinn/
I can't think of an NFL player, other than Peyton Manning, that has a higher visibility, week-in and week-out, than JJ Watt. He's in a variety of national spots, he's on the SNF open, he's revered and respected, and regarded by very nearly everybody as an unstoppable beast. I don't think moving zip codes would make an ounce of difference in his already-high Q rating (Manning has always played in non-Dallas/non-Northeastern markets.)
JJ ****ing Watt is going to go down as the best Defensive End of all time by the time he is done. He will retire a Texan and he will have a super bowl ring.
Well yes I would say he is but I am sure there are people who would argue that he isn't... yet at least.
