    Didn't see this posted...

Washington celebrated their first day of freedom today.

They had a ceremonial lighting of the spliffs at the base of the Space Needle at midnight.

    Y'all are jelly, admit it.

As they say in the Army, Light 'em if you have them?

I sincerely thought this was about meteors dropping in the Northwest of these United States. :(

I could totally see myself moving to Seattle, wearing a hemp sweater and getting really into the Sounders.

I was surprised to hear they lit up in public like that. I expected there to be a city ordinance of no smoking in public, just like there are open-container laws, and public intoxication?

It was my Carl Herrera-esque attempt at a play on words given the meteor news. "Stoners see lights in the sky."

I sincerely thought it was about lights in the Heights for some reason.

I saw a short interview with a police officer from the Seattle area yesterday and he laughed it off and said mar1juana is low on their priority list. He followed up by saying if he sees a drunk person with a beer in their hand on one corner and someone with a joint on the other corner, he'll still go after the drunk guy with the beer.

He just skipped the first box in the flow chart? The one that says [white or minority]? Cops do seem more lax for whatever reason when it comes to this. I wonder if its something they develop naturally over time or if its pushed internally.

‎"The Obama administration is strategizing how to fight legal pot in Colorado and Washington, reports Charlie Savage of The New York Times. While "no decision" is "imminent," Savage reports that senior level White House and Justice Department officials are considering "legal action against Colorado and Washington that could undermine voter-approved initiatives."

not following why you posted these stats. It says, percentage of victims of assaults who perceived the suspect of being intoxicated.

lol...you know why the numbers have gone down. Because there are increasing amounts of people high on the streets, and they report perceiving the suspects as bears and zombies.

This issue will have a group of people arguing for states rights who would never otherwise utter the words :)

What a waste of time and resources. You would think that they would have more pressing issues than people getting high.

So what does that do for employment drug tests in Washington?

You test positive for pot ... but you smoked it legally.

Or even in Texas, you failed the drug test, but you show plane tickets that show you smoked legally while in Seattle?
