Yeah they did but I just disagreed with your assessment that the rockets would not be better. There’s more than enough sample size of how good this team was/can be with cp3 on it.

This shouldn't even be in a Rockets thread. He's gone, so move on.

Bottom line: CP3 is a better player WHEN HEALTHY than WB. He wasn't fully healthy last year. And you don't know when he will break down. Pick your poison

only changes I would make to this statement is.. CP talent overall is not better than westbrook but his skills are bettwe for the rockets in particular
and CP got hurt every year as a rocket including his first

umm.. but WB can take over a game and CP3 can't do that anymore...WB's ceiling is higher as to what he can do in a game versus Cp3 but CP3 provides more stability when healthy health was a constant problem. The Ariza/Moute defensive void is the larger looming problem in my opinion

You think teams double team Harden with CP3 on the floor like the do with WB on the floor?

The defensive void is absolutely one of the biggest factors, absolutely.

The Westbrook vitriol and angst is waste of time and energy. Paul is not putting on Rockets uni ever again, move on.

false and add to that wb provides harden with a more stressful defense.

Agreed. But the flip side of that is the high probability of Westbrook's athleticism declining fast this side of 30. That's why Westbrook's contract can possibly be worse than CP's even though WB is younger. How this will turn out remains to be seen, maybe just a year down the road.

    Who cares?

Harden didn’t want to adapt to CP3 and CP3 wasn’t as useful playing next to Harden...

    Move on...

If the Beard and Brow were childhood friends, man, that would have been a sweet tandem.

PG13 as the next in line.

    I don’t know if I agree so far .

Right now our starting 5 man lineup has a +13.4 in points right now . Our main 5 man rotation from a year ago had a +6.4 . Our lineup this year is already 3/4 the way to that lineups minutes .

I’m not gonna do to much more digging right now but I looked at the second best 5 man too from both years(with any significant minutes) . Last year’s didn’t involve Paul . And this years does involve Russ.

I’m pretty sure that cp3 lineups without James have been better than Russ lineups sans Harden. I can look into that . If Gordon was present for many minutes in those cp3 lineups then that could be a hope for Russ to improve there this season as we get him back.

its all hypothetical anyway depending on someone's personal judgement. I don't know if the rockets would be "better" but there's more than enough sample size of cp3 on this team to actually judge how good this team was with him. and anyone who has followed cp3 this year consistently thus far would understand they would still be very good with him now
