Was there ever an offseason with so little controversy here?

    It's as if there's nothing to really talk about. There used to be stuff every offseason. When do we get off this mediocrity treadmill? Morey a good GM or a stat geek who'll never get a star, JVG can't coach offense, Adelman can't coach defense, McHale can't coach period, Juwan Howard sucks, Rafer Alston sucks, so many other player sucks...

    This offseason? Nothing. There aren't even any "Player X is going to be the star we're looking for" type of threads, even if Cannan, DMo, Jones, Smith all have some upside. It's as if we no longer care if any become a star. The only thing left to talk about is how Jeremy Lin may fit with the new roster. And even this discussion is partly driven by Lin's unique background.

    Was the T-Mac trade be the last time there's so much positive feelings during the offseaon?

    There's controversy on Clutchfans, for sure, it's just all manufactured between "fans".

    I think we're all still in the honeymoon period with the team as currently constructed.

    It is surprising that the anti-McHale crowd has quieted down. At one point that was a very vocal discussion.

    Sounds like McHale was integral to getting Howard. So by default hating on McHale is hating on Howard, which is criminally stupid.

    You might be misremembering the TMac trade. I recall a number of people who were pretty upset that we've gave our young, home grown core of Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley for headlining scorer with suspect defense.

    Things didn't get better when the team got off to such a slow start.



    But I basically agree with your original premise. :) Probably the most exiting offseason the Rockets have had in some time, probably ever.

    Even the Barkley trade/rumors left a bad taste because it meant giving up Horry/Cassell.


    Maybe the offseason when they drafted Hakeem, but that was more about future hopes than immediate contention.

    There hasn't been many moves to criticize. The howard move is hard to dislike, and the rest are low risk moves for role players/bench warmers.
