Les removed toxic management and brought a new regime that one championships. The only real bad thing he did was retiring Rudy T
It’s not even close. Fertits is treating the Rockets like a restaurant , or any other business he owns .... just watching the bottom line , etc etc.... blah blah blah
most of the work had already been done by the time Les came around I doubt people would’ve given Tilman any credit if we had won a title in 2018. What owner takes the championship trophies with him on his way out and has them collecting dust at some home in Florida? Yet we got dudes crying because Tilman has his face on a mural twice...
Les sold the team you idiots cause never cared about the team or city No other nba owner sells teams for Profit because they already are super rich
Anyone who liked Les Alexander can quit the rockets and sell out like he did move to Florida or go to Florida and pet the gators
Just because Les was not a great owner doesn't mean Tillman is any better. We replaced the douchebag with an *******. He has no idea what it takes to build a winning formula and it is sad when we are so close. He needs to let Morey do his thing and not let Harden just try and pick up his buddies.
Les wasn’t the owner when we almost went to the Finals. That was Tillman’s first year. Les sold right after the CP trade was completed.
Less almost moved the rockets to another city. Our uniforms are better now. That being said tilman sucks.
The people who automatically say that Les was a good owner were never long time fans or local fans I don’t have issue with Tilman criticism just how people think Les Alexander was such a great owner. Especially giving him credit for the championships. Dream, Rudy, Vernon, Horry, Sam etc were pre Les decisions Les Alexander was not remotely on par with the other owners like Jerry Bus He was an outsider seeking an opportunity not a local guy who got rich enough to buy a team and enjoy presenting them to the locals Les cared about China so much and that’s where his investment dollars went And ultimately this made everyone think that’s China first and Houston last
I'm glad to see you coming to the dark side. JUST BECAUSE TILMAN IS AWFUL DOESN'T MEAN LES WAS GREAT JUST BECAUSE LES WAS AWFUL DOESN'T MAKE TILMAN A GOOD OWNER. They both suck. I literally couldn't pick one to be worse than the other except for the fact that Les sold the team so we don't have to deal with him anymore.
We don’t need a comparison thread because only long time fans can make a real comparison We need an education thread because we have lots of fans who didn’t even know the red and yellow logo and the summit
As much as someone like Mark Cuban can be annoying, they bought their sports team because it was a love of the sports franchise rather than a business venture to increase the bottom line. Unfortunately you need someone ultra wealthy who is a fan to have that type of owner. Someone like Tillman who is only moderetly wealthy only will see the Rockets as a business venture only and not as a fan trying to win a ring.
Les for me but he did own the team longer Who takes the championship trophies and moves them out of state?? The fact Dream and company won those titles for us and Les took them to Florida makes me mad
Les sucked but at least he got out of the way sometimes. Tilman has a hand in everything, and it’s been messy
I'll never forgive him for a few things. 1) taking those trophies 2) threatening to move the team to freaking KY 3) constantly trying to make us the Shanghai Rockets Western Edition most notably. Mind you, I'm a bit young (30) ( I couldn't even sign up for Clutchfans when I used to read it in the early 2000s because I was a good boy who refused to lie about his age ) for a real opinion on the championship years and I only vaguely remember watching the Knicks series at a restaurant in South Padre while they cut to the Bronco Chase, my most vivid early recollection is the Barkley trade and beyond. I also will always appreciate the fact that Les had the foresight to hire Daryl Morey and allow him to throw in all of the assets for a mostly unproven potential star in James Harden. Tilman changed the jerseys to be a bit more appropriate to the city but I do not see that as revolutionary moves.
