it was only worth it knowing that the general consensus among-st fans and media alike is we will get a full roster and coaching revamp.
I'm against building to tank. Always have been. But this team was going nowhere in 2016 and I wanted that damn pick. Not worth it.
Remember that the rox had a deal in place to trade Dwight before the February, trade dateline. But backed off. For this end result.
Stings big time that they lost that pick from the Lawson trade which at the time looked like grand larceny. If the Utah Jazz would have halfway handled their business in the last few games of the season then the rockets wouldn't have been humiliated like this and if Curry hadn't been injured this series would have been a sweep. The 12th pick would have been a nice trade chip in Moreys pocket this offseason.
By that logic almost nothing we do on this forum matters so why say anything at all related to the Rockets. Anyway this thread matters in that it can show us which posters we should pay attention to. Some people actually thought us getting in the playoffs should help us "grow" or some similar nonsense. Some even thought we could win! But then there were the reasonable who knew we'd get curb stomped in 4 or 5 and it would help no one. Obviously, that pick would be nice. It'd make it easier to dump Brewer or package some players for an upgrade. But now, no, we can't do that. Making the playoffs gained us nothing and cost us a good asset. So again, which posters are worth listening to? Those who accurately predicted this OBVIOUS outcome who had both our short term and long term health in mind, or those who live in an alternate reality where this team getting embarrassed leads to great things?
You better believe Yes it was worth it. Feel that pain? Feel it? Good, let it seap through your body and feel it in evey part of your soul. Good, now your toughning up. Too many fans on this board are afraid to just play. Yeah the Rockets lost, yes they got embarrassed nationally for 5 straight games. Yes the Rockets had what many would consider a disappointing season, but at the end of the day i wouldn't change a thing, because the Rockets got the spanking they deserved and if that doesnt light a fire in Harden and the remaining Rockets that will be returning, then i dont know what will. First fire Jbb for the Love of God. People are gonna let it slide because hes the interim but at the end of the 80 % of the Rockets troubles this year was on Bicker Staff! Its the coaches too put the players in the right spot, for the love of God Jbb got Marcus Thorton cut, could of used his shooting last night, but Hindsight is 20/20, the point is, Get Jbb far away from this roxkets team and Hire JVG already! With Jvg, a motivated young PLAYOFF EXPERIENCED Rockets team that will seek redemption next year via the Redeem Team and Two max free agents plus a cheap Beasley, that team is going to be polar opposite of this seasons team, and we will all rejoice in the sweet taste of Victory and Redemption that will make all this pain worth it.
Lets talk again in july. Forget Durant. Why would Horford Batum Conley even Bazemore Mahinmi join a non playoff team when they will have multiple offers for the same money and more from playoff teams? Meanwhile ths draft sucks. My Bucks have the 10th seed and I couldnt care less for all the prospects at that range except one who is most likely gone by then anyway.
If we want Harden to stop coming into training camp out of shape and start playing defense, this series needed to happen. Also, we need to debunk the talk like, "We play best with our back to the wall."
apparently it takes 7 years for guys to learn that now a days eh. no matter how people want to try to spin in no way was it worth it to get it embarrassed in a series you had no chance in winning.
Oh we did. With Curry playing a combine 1 game and out for another 2 weeks, you theoretically had a chance. Difference is we didn't take advantage of the opportunity.
