This is a good point and not just about black parents but all parents. I cannot stand when teachers or authority figures in schools tell parents that their child has done something wrong and then the parent tries to say their child was justified in whatever action they did.

The only leader that african american or any other race needs is at the home. PARENTS should be the leaders. Thats why I think that these kids dont have any respect or determination is because there are no leaders at home. Its hard for a single parent to raise a family on their own.
MLK was a great man and a great leader and his strategy was that there would be nonviolent restence to evil; don’t seek to humiliate or defeat opponents, but to win their friendships, attack forces of evil rather than the people who cause it for example. There was also the strategy to accept suffering without retaliation, refuse to hate, and finally to act with conviction that the universe is on the side of justice. If this great man wouldnt have been assasinated, it would have been so great.

I totally agree with both of you. This is happening not only in USA, also in China. Some parents are stupid enough to believe that their children can do whatever they want to do. "they are still young, they will understand when they grow older" and you know what? It is already too late when they grow older.
