So if the Rockets had half of Golden State's luck in terms of rotation players being healthy and won 60+ games (in a division that was much tougher than the Pacific division btw), he probably would have still come in 7th, just because he isn't liked by his peers excluding Hinkie and maybe a few others.
I'm glad those guys don't vote for MVP, because Curry would be guaranteed if all they care about is wins.
Mitch Kupchak got a vote for 2nd place. That's all I need to know as far how seriously should I take this voting
Watch out, buddy. There are people around here who would want you to lose your job for saying stuff like that.
Myers deserves it. Think bigger picture. Golden State was trash before him. His drafting + Not Trading Klay for Kevin Love + Hiring Steve Kerr were huge for their success this season.
I don't have an issue with Myers winning it. I have an issue with every single vote after that. Either way though, it just goes to show that GMs are probably even more petty than the media when it comes to stuff like this.
Appears based on Summer perception. Remember, cfnet was yelling about Morey achieving nothing as well...and going backwards. Lost on Bosh and Parsons...traded Asik and let Lin go. I thought all of those were the correct action, but I've got no solid argument other than I like homegrown chemistry to surround Harden. Some of you guys are being flipfloppers here. Morey was Raped like a Horse with a Gun last year by fans.
I remember a lot of the fans laughing at Morey when he said he thought the team got better when all he did was pick up Ariza and bring over Papa and Dorsey.
GMs with more 1st place votes than Morey over past two years: Stan Van Gundy, CHA, Billy King in BKN, and Ainge in BOS...such a joke
Yeah, I saw that too. Where is Phil Jackson on this list?!?! Given the messed-up criteria apparently applied to casting votes, I'd have thought he'd be way up there.
Les should have campaigned for Morey like Morey campaigned for Harden. Of course, being prone to exaggerate, Les would have referred to Morey as one of the greatest GMs of all time.
FIFY...but seriously, as bad as LAL, PHI, and MIN were, there is no possible way that Mitch Kupchak, Sam Hinkie, and Flip Saunders should have received any votes.
For what? He made no consequential player acquisitions this year. He got it for hiring Kerr? It's the only thing I can think of got this season.
