Klay Thompson sucks. A prime Kevin Martin is better than him and will always be better than him. This is a guy who shoots roughly about 40% FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE while being a one dimensional player. Why don't they just sign Kyle Korver instead?

Oh well, Golden State's hype, Houston's gain!

From Hardens POV, it seemed he was pretty content staying with OKC or getting traded, doesnt seem upset about not being on a perennial contender. He gets to be the man, gets that 30m extra or whatever it was, really a win win.

No they wouldn't, they would play no D. Thunder, Spurs, Clips, Griz would be better.

As if Klay Thompson plays good defense lol. You replace Klay with Harden and that's pretty much a lateral move defensively.

There are only that many shots to take. Who'll take most? I believe it'd be Curry, and who plays PG there? would be Curry as well. Harden might be the 2nd option in GSW, and you have Lee over there to take Harden's share too ...

If harden was playing I would think he would be the primary ball handler like Lebron, always thought curry is better at scoring and catch and shooting than a pure point guard, curry played shooting guard in college and harden likes to big the ball and be ball dominant

This is hilarious how people are trying to make it like the Warriors wouldn't come out like bandits on the trade. With Curry/Harden/Lee, all you need is two defensive minded players to add to that. One Battier/Tony Allen type and one Asik/Bogut(healthy) type.

It's always easier to look for top defensive players than it is to find top offensive players. Harden now is a top-5-10 NBA commodity that basically has no chance of ever being traded. Players like Tony Allen, Bruce Bowen, Asik, Taj Gibson, etc. get moved all the time.

I really wonder if Presti simply misjudged Harden's talent. Which seems to make no sense as Presti both drafted him, and watched him in OKC for 3 years. It's ridiculous that Morey actually projected Harden to be a star(he said Harden was foundational piece at the trade) more than Presti. Because if Presti really believed in Harden's potential, he'd have stopped trading him after the Washington call. Switched gears, and start to ask for offers for Westbrook.

If Harden wasnt traded. He would be just a 15/4/3 player on the Thunder. Now he's a 27/6/6 player while being the Alpha Dog with his own supporting cast. The fact that Harden was willing to stay in OKC and sacrifice his career and legacy truly shows of Harden's character and demeanor.

I couldn't be happier we got James Harden. He is truly a superstar. Now he just needs Dwight to pair up and we don't even need a 3rd piece.

Instead of East Asian fans complaining about Harden out-shining their favorite player, we'd have South Asian ones complaining

How come people have forgotten Jeremy Lamb so quickly... When the trade happens, Jeremy Lamb's stock was sky high coming out of summer league and preseason. I remember he was among top 5 in Vegas odds for rookie of the year. He was the same level of prospect as Klay Thompson and definitely a heavy weight in that trade.

Jeremy Lamb was really happy with the trade because he was going to a contender but because they are a contender rookies don't see much of the floor at all so I don't know if he realized that. It will be a while before he gets into any stable rotation so it will work out for him long term if hes patient but that's only if the something better doesn't come along in a trade draft for OKC or something, short term it may be better for him if he gets traded while people still know his name.

What do you mean willing to stay in OKC? He was in his 3rd year and thus probably still on his rookie contract.

He means he was more than happy to stay in OKC and maintain his previous role had the given him the money he deserved.

Because he, like everyone else, figured he would have to see Howard in the playoffs. Ibaka can't handle Howard, Gasol or Duncan defensively.

So it's only natural that we trade Lin for Curry.

Thompson is the most proven young guy they could have gotten, so I don't think our offer was definitely that much better.

Martin is a rental player for OKC as he might be too expensive for them to keep in the summer, who from Rockets' POV was a throw-in anyway. Thus, they got Lamb as long term replacement.
