Draymond Green Accused Kevin Durant Of Making Season About His Free Agency Draymond Green immediately took exception with the way Kevin Durant addressed him when he brought the ball up the court himself instead of passing to Durant. According to multiple sources, Green made it clear that he's been making plays like that for years and then reminded Durant that the Golden State Warriors were winning before he signed there in 2016. Green then accused Durant of making the whole season about him even though he might leave in free agency in 2019. Green aired his frustrations with how Durant has kept his free agency story alive throughout the season. Green also called Durant a "b****" multiple times, which is what prompted management to take action. Bob Myers and Steve Kerr met with Green on Tuesday morning to inform him of the suspension. Green was surprised by the decision. When Green went after Kerr at halftime of a game in 15-16 in Oklahoma City, he was fined a few thousand dollars. Green didn't think the Durant incident was as bad as the one with Kerr. Green has more of an issue with the message it sends than the money. According to several in the locker room, Durant could have ended the situation by saying how much he loves playing with the Warriors and his teammates. Durant's teammates are all prepared for him to leave and they're not on board for another tour of begging him to stay. “With what was said, there is already no way Durant is coming back,” one player said. “The only hope is that they can say this summer, ‘See, KD. We’ve got your back. We protected you from Draymond.’ ”
So, this is something that could definitely linger among the team and it makes sense that team would suspend Green for this... At the same time, the team is basically taking Durant's side here...and Green has been there through the hard times and the good. They didn't handle it well suspending him, has to not sit well with him, and any bit of conflict is not going to help...and then there's Cousins...
Very convenient that his suspension happened to be against the lowly Hawks lol. Nothing to see here, maybe it slightly increases the chance of KD leaving but that's it.
The Warriors are greasing the wheels for the eventual exit of Green in 2020. The guy will want to get paid max money and Myers/Lacob most likely won't pony up that money. Apparently Green will be eligible for a super max if he wins an MVP, DPOY, or makes the all-nba team by 2020.
Green is never going to win an NBA MVP. Sorry, he is just not that kind of player but he is the ulitmate Glue. In 2017 already won DPOY.
I do think there is a very good chance KD leaves this summer. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Draymond is trying to get to LA and play with Lebron also when his contract is up.
Slightly? I think its a majore increase. Green basically called Durant a _____ that has to be carried to championships...basically what everyone else has said about him. That does cut deep. That's one of those insults that I think will stick with KD and maybe send him off to New York to have his own team or something and prove himself again. This is KD here. He has thin skin, he remembers this stuff. Everyone seems pretty tense when asked about it too. There's a lot of smoke for there to be no fire. They'll probably win this year, no doubt, too much talent not to...well I think the Raptors will be a threat to them. It would be funny if they won the championship and Durant leaves. Kawhi will have demolished TWO dynasties. Beating Lebron in Miami and Lebron then went to Cleveland and then this...would be a nice legacy for him... I really think they underestimate the value he has to that team. It will be interesting to see what they do without him. Yeah, I don't think they will pay for max money and would not be surprised if he's traded next season.
Rockets have to get KD for next season. Harden, Paul, KD, Capella, Tucker That's the story I'm reading.
He forgot the name snake! Nothing wrong with what he said. He better join the Fakers or a better team because the Knicks ain't winning much soon.
Cousins has options. I bet the Pelicans would take him back. Anthony Davis is already trying to talk him back into it. The Kentucky connection never dies.
