That's because Jevale is like that mentally challenged kid at your bus stop who needs someone to intercede when he gets bullied. Harden's a badass and can take care of himself.

I have to say that I felt the same after seeing the media coverage of the 'unfairness' of Shaq towards javale.
They have been mocking Harden's Defense via edited clips for years now and really hurt his legacy. The only reason why he didn't even got the 3rd all nba team last year was because of these clips.
But Harden took it in humor instead of crying about it.

And he just worked harder to improve his flaws and to become an even better player.
I do expect some of the media members to admit that they treated Harden like Shaq is treating Mkgee and to apologize to him.

Lol man I was looking for this video. Harden took it in stride, became a badass, and the media is now on his jock (though there are still a couple that berate him for defense which tells me they have low IQ). Warriors and McGee went to go cry...bunch of lame cornballs.

This just shows that the Warriors fan base is a bandwagon type, cry baby type, p***y type, highly insecure bunch

    WHat a bunch of whiners.

I side with the Warriors on this, but I don't agree with pressuring TNT to fire Shaq. Shaq didn't handle this the right way and I hope he's man enough to recognize he went too far and apologize. I doubt it will happen -- in that respect, even Barkley is far more mature.

As for comparing this criticism to people making fun of Harden, let's consider that. If James Harden tweeted at the TNT crew too cool it with the jokes, and one of them responded with "I'll beat yo ass, you a bum" or whatever Shaq said, is that OK?

McGee has been a running joke for several years now. Even if he makes a small mistake, they have to blow it up to portray him as an imbecile. That isn't fair to him, and I support him for finally saying something about it after all this time. And I respect his teammates and coach for standing behind him.

Why is this about the Warriors fans and the Rockets fans?

It should be about Shaq and it is already being discussed in this thread.

And to compare McGee and Harden is totally wrongheaded. McGee is a bench player (not even in regular rotation). Harden is a franchise player. The media constantly talk and criticize franchise players. For Shaq to focus on mocking an insignificant player like McGee makes it look a lot more personal than superstars being criticized.

Much as I dislike that team I have to disagree about their fans. They kept that place packed from the end of Run TMC up to their current era of winning. Those were mostly 20 very dark years of basketball in Oakland.

Anyone have a link or video of what Shaq actually said? How in the wild has this thread got this far without anyone posting it.

Remember when they ruined Chris Mullin's jersey retirement because they were mad that management had hitched their wagon to Curry and traded Monta for Bogut?

I'd just like to note that Javale McGee was a running joke in the NBA before Shaqtin' ever existed. These same type of videos were floating around for him and guys like Nick Young for a while. Also, you're being naive if you think just Shaq is in on the running joke.

I think Shaq only stepped over the line with his tweets. It's not professional to threaten someone. It's also not professional to say someone had your nuts in their mouth for showing actual video of you screwing up at your job.

Dude it wasn't only that. Years of constant bullying and harassing can do a lot to a guy. Shaq is lucky McGee hasn't snapped and went after shaq.
