I think the Titans would honor him as an Oiler than a Titan. He never played for Tennessee. I think the same would go for Bruce Matthews even though he played a few years in Tennessee.
Congrats to Warren...there was a lot of doubt about him getting in this time around. I was also really hoping Derrick Thomas would get in, but this was a very strong class. Am I the only one who is glad Irvin's cocky ass didn't make it?
Great to see Warren Moon get in, it was well deserved. Glad Irvin got screwed again, I really don't like that guy.
I always thought of him as being, at best, a borderline hall-of-famer. I thought he had the credentials but felt like he would always fall short in the voting. That's until I heard John McClain argue for him on the radio yesterday. He SHOULD be in the hall and I'm happy he is. It's a landmark moment that the first black QB into the hall will be representing the OIler blue we all came to love.
WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! 1st ballot I think, as well he should have been. Greatest QB ever (yet) to play in Houston. Kudos!!
I always thought he deserved it because of: 1) the sick numbers 2) longevity 3) the fact that he had records in the CFL before coming to the NFL (!!!), then proceeded to set records in the NFL. That and the fact that the HoF in Canton is not an "NFL only" hall. I'm excited; I'd better sign off before I post in this thread 10 more times. This guy deserved to be in!! I'll be even happier that day Biggio and (hopefully) Bagwell go into Cooperstown.
I was at a game two years ago in Nashville.. where they honored Elvin Bethea for getting into the hall of fame... It was sad.. the Texans fans in the crowd were the ones cheering... I don't think the Titans fans knew who he was.
That's very true and what he did in the CFL was crazy...and he did win a championship there if i am not mistaken.
