[WaPo] Longtime Trump attorney says he made $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels with his money

I think he's trying to steer into some kind of ethical or professional skid, seems like a lose-lose situation where you either assumed accountability for your client beyond the purview of an advocate and court officer, or just can't be trusted to effectively handle clients' secrets.

 

I'm old enough to remember Gary Hart presidential aspirations were shot down from having a picture with a pretty girl (Donna Rice) on the aptly named boat "Monkey Business." Oh how times and the height of the bar changed...

 

I think this sort of criticism misses the mark a little bit, which is probably why it always falls on deaf ears. Sexual purity isn't the only thing they talk about in church. The other thing that gets a lot of air time is about how everyone is a sinner and that it is only by the grace of God that any soul is saved. So, it's easy for an evangelical to disregard the infidelities if they want to, especially since they happened 10 years ago and Trump supposedly recently became a Christian. I think evangelicals should instead by offended by Trump's very unChristian policy priorities, which persist today without repentance.

 

Fair enough. Support the policies, not the man.

The thing I don't understand is why would she be pissed in the first place? Did she actually marry him because she had affection for him? Does she really care if he ****s around? I mean she has to know that he has been his entire life with every former wife he had. He's never not cheated on his spouse.

 

No, I suspect its just the embarrassment to her ego. And perhaps she cares about her family.

 

That does make sense. I can see her feeling pretty isolated and lonely right now.

 

I'm certain she knew but he likely convinced her that all of the NDAs would keep it on the downlow as to not be a complete and utter embarrassment. Now, she gets to live them all over again while it reinforces the belief that she's nothing more than a trophy wife.
