people here talk as if it is easy to land players or free agents. Also the comments about Morey are probably dead wrong, how the hell do any of you know if he has chased good shooting bigs ? you don't, so don't talk as if you are in the loop and that Morey hasn't tried to trade for a shooting big or get one during free agency. Just because they haven't landed one, does not mean they haven't tried to

I don't buy what your cooking up. The rockets have been a top 5 team winning wise the last 3 years. It's not hard to aquire talent. The Problem is Morey is a cheap ass and only wants max level guys or low salary guys. He is allergic to offering 10-12mil contract on this team.

We could have some nice pieces if we didn't have this mindset.

The rockets have a superstar mvp level guy NBA 1st teamer. They have the Allstar big man who can get u 20-12.

Ariza is a nice piece, bev is good too.

Terry is nice veteran end of bench spot duty guy. Dmo when healthy is a nice piece.

As I count we have 5 NBA players 1 vet persence.

If this team had more guys like a jarred Bayless, Alec crabb, Mo speights our team would be a power house.

Sure getting KD is nice and I hope it happens but morey and the front office need to be more realistic and get pieces to complement Harden and let him go to work with guys who can convert on all the attention he draws.

On another level Zach Lowe recently said that KD is interested in playing with Horford. Maybe we go after Horford and KD to team up with harden that's a champion level big 3 with high IQ and spacing for harden and KD.

It's not always about a star player and chasing them, that's the mentality morey has brought us fans and it's sad.

It's just about getting a big who can shoot, set some picks may be a backup etc.

Look at the Hawks for example they scooped up kris humpries quick, is he a star no but I guarantee you we will see him setting some picks hitting some jumpers in the playoffs, making things easier for their guards

we need a defensive 4 who can hit the jumper. All these 4s in the league just dominate our team because we don't have anyone that can defend them consistently.

    Bogut can't shoot.

    Splitter (ex Spurs) can't shoot.

    Deandre Jordan can't shot.

    Steven Adams can't shot.

whoever the forked played for the Mavs before or after Tyson Chandler can't shot.

Mowsgov maybe able to shot a bit, but he seldom shot and when he did, that's like the 5th option in a broken play. and Thompson can't shot.

    Valanciunas and Biyombo can't shot.

    -----------------------------------

Nobody expect your center can shot, that's a dumbest thing to blame when your team fail.

Its nice for your PF to be able to shot, but the modern basketball requires him to be more like a play maker and great rebounder than a shooter.

I agree with the other guy, we simply don't know. You are simply making assumptions based on things Morey has said which I can just about guarantee if a half truth. Morey doesn't want to overpay for role players is the only thing I've noticed based on actions.

This isn't necessarily the case though. For a team that emphasizes threes and layups, their offensive efficiency should be better than it is. More importantly, the high turnover rate basically gift wraps the other team free points.

Does anyone know where the Rockets' defense ranks when their half court defense is set? Don't have a synergy account

offense is not the problem. if anyone doesn't realize that then they are just as blinded at what it really takes to win at the highest level.

Offense is definitely a problem, if you can't see that then you are not watching games.

if you think its a bigger problem than defense then you are not understanding games

The Rockets need both offense and defense. I think our record as well as what we see when we watch the games will show you that. We may score points but the when and how is the problem. If we score over 100 points a game and still lose consistently then we have problems in both areas ie..the Denver Nuggets of the 1990's.

The rockets score over 100 easily. But they give up 100 in 3 quarters. You are not going to beat many teams especially any of the good ones that way period.

Did I say bigger? This thread is about a big man who can spread the floor at least a bit and supposedly perfect for Morey's philosophy. Not whether he needs to be good defensively or not, that's of course a given.

apparently its not a given when people are thinking offensive moves are going to fix this team.
