Well, Walt didn't hit good from the outside tonight, but he did other things that helped us go 2-0. He played reasonable defense (still not great, but good for him), made a couple of nice shots inside the 3, stepped up to play PF when Cato and KT both fouled out and made the play of the game according to Calvin when he penetrated in the overtime period and found Francis wide open and Steve hit that little floater to put us up by 5. I know all the TMo fans want to see more of Terrence, but without Walt tonight, the Rockets lose, plain and simple. So my point is this: Walt is the streakiest player that I have ever seen. Let's don't rush to judgment if he has a bad game like he did on Tuesday night.
Have to agree with you on this one Manny. Walt’s actions weren't in the box score tonight, they were out on the court. Throughout the night Wiz was either going into his role as 3 point specialist and standing at the corners waiting for the kick out or drawing the double teams that lead to scores on the pass off. As for his defense, it was also that which made strong impacts yet in a quiet manner. During a close game each possession is crucial and it was Walt who had key deflections and strips that really helped out the Rocks. Now, with a board of widespread fans each possessing varying opinions to all agree on something is just unfeasible, I must say though that Walt shouldn't be drilled after every game because of what Eddie or Terence might of done. Rudy puts Wiz in the game for a reason, he carries veteran experience, understands the teams and his role in the game plan, and provides clutch shooting. To take that out and replace it with a couple of first year studs is just ludicrous. By that I don't mean that they aren't quality players but not every rookie can jump into a system without learning it, especially in crunch time.
Yeah, he's got that killer instinct we should look for in a shooter... "But hopefully, defenses will start looking at the (overall shooting) percentages and start double-teaming off me," he said. "Then that'll be good for me. I think I can get my percentage back up then. "Hopefully, teams will look at the percentages I'm shooting from the 3s and don't rotate to me."
What is your point? Are you being sarcastic about Walt? I hope that you are not going by the stats because Walt did some things that don't show up in the boxscore that helped the Rockets win. I'm not a big Walt fan, but it would be nice to see people here recognize the fact that he did some things, not all of it was scoring, that helped the Rockets win. Anybody who saw the game last night knows what I'm talking about here.
