Doubt it. We are talking about vets who get bought out (Mike Bibby, Troy Murphy, etc.). I think the Rockets would rather roll with the guys they have, rather than have these older rental players take minutes away from youngsters like Patterson, Dragic, Lee, Budinger, etc., when these vets are not obvioius upgrades. These guys are probably looking to join a high-seed playoff team to chase a ring and exhibit their skills deep in the playoffs for a new contract.
I bet the Celtics pick up Troy Murphy. I'm not sure if they could afford it, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
This is going to sound odd, but whoever has Murphy has the East. If the Heat get him, then they will have a decent selection of big man to go against Celtics and Orlando, If the Magic get him, they have an extra big man to dominate the Heat and the Celtics newer, smaller frontcourt. If the Celtics sign him, they essential replace Perkins and can match up with Heat and Magic. Whether he realizes it or not, Troy decides who wins the East and possibly the Finals.
Um, this is the same Troy Murphy who was too out of shape to play for the Nets and is coming off injuries, right?
Not if the Rockets are still hoping to get under the luxury tax threshold; i.e. if certain players do not meet their incentives.
how about Corey Brewer? is he good defensively? if yes, i wouldn't mind signing him for our SF position..
Keep in mind we're in LT territory. Any additional salary, as minuscule as it may seem, in reality costs us $2 for every $1 spent.
What happened to Troy Murphy??? He was playing pretty damned well just a couple years ago. I guess TMac was too, so you never know.

Kelenna Azulbuike Cut. Will We Make A Run? As the title suggests. We are very thin at SF and Azulbuike is supposedly close to returning from the injury. Hopefully Morey tries to get him for the final stretch.
