Question on that. If the season ends as it is now, that is we have the fifth best record in the conference, but win our division, do we start on the road or at home.
Road - oops a step slow I see it's been answered above. We were pondering over this during our conference finals year as well when we eventually finished 2nd in the west.
On a side note the Magic last 10 games has been bizarre, they beat the top 3 teams (by record) but lose to the Bulls and Knicks.
It's just unbelievable that when we start to get our mojo back on the way to the 3rd seed the Warrios start dropping games and may end up with the 2nd seed. Typical Rockets fortune. Whatever, I feel confident we will beat them in 6 if we are healthy for once. Big win tonight boys!
With the way that Rockets have been hit with injuries I wouldn't blame them for thinking long term and hoping to play them when Rockets are more worn out. Don't believe they are really doing that though
I am starting to think the same way. The Nuggets look like they will take the first seed and Golden State seems poised to be number 2 which means we need to stay between 4 and 5
Don't think any of the other teams have what it takes to knock out the Warriors, may be better to play them before the playoff intensity takes a toll on our older players.
Agreed; if Denver finishes the season at #1 in the conference standings, the Rockets will be the winner of that, because I strongly believe they would defeat Denver in a potential 2nd Round series.
Seed determines who you play, record determines where you play. If we win our division, no matter our record, we finish no lower than 4th place, but we would face the 5th seed on the road if their record is better than ours.
It’s looking like a Rockets vs OKC first round series at the moment with the way Portland has been playing with Kanter, which is not ideal but still confident.
Pretty sure they took the whole "win your division, get HCA" thing away, a while ago. It's been "top 4 records" for quite some time.
