Wade Smith undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexan...s-arthroscopic-knee-surgery/?cmpid=sportshcat Minus a pro-bowler...
It's a pretty wide sliding scale when Wade Smith is listed as a probowler. This is nothing like losing Chris Myers or Duane Brown.
Still there's a lot to be said about OL continuity and its effect on the run game. Get well soon wade. Is this an IR or mini PUP thing?
I don't like it either when it's player A one week, then player B the other week, etc., like you said, vin. This is what hurts the blocking schemes, and the consistency just isn't there.
It's insane how many lineman have gone down due to injury this offseason. I mean we just got passed the FIRST round of preseason games this past week! Yet still have 3 more to go. There must be something in the water.
He is not a true pro bowl talent; mediocre talent to be more accurate. But still a loss though. When other team's fans talk trash after they beat us, at least we can be like "Yea, well our Pro Bowl LG is hurt!"
He's better than mediocre. I don't think it's clear at all how much time he is going to miss. He had a knee scope. I think Kubiak said 3-4 days and they will know more.
So are we getting conflicting reports? The article Swoly posted states he underwent arthroscopic surgery this morning. Yet every other outlet states it was a knee scope. Those are two completely different procedures.
You know what, you're right. I was thinking microscopic knee surgery. I'm not a doctor but I think that ones worse, right?
That's the one. Thank you! Getting my micro/artho fracture/scopic surgeries mixed up. Thanks for the clarification.
Andre missed like 3 weeks of practice with a knee scope last year. If there's no issue it is perfectly reasonable to think Wade is back for the opening game.
our running game wasn't that much better to the left side and wade had a so so year last season, but this still hurts. =( hope he can go by game 3 of the regular season.
we should feel fortunate if this is the worst preseason injury the team gets so many teams have lost key players for more games
Arthroscopic is a medical term meaning that you are using a scope to view something and potentially correct something. Uses small incision site and camera/other tools that looks like it attached to long wire of sorts. Technically any medical intervention in which you cut into the skin is a surgery or procedure. When you perform this type of procedure, you can just look around or fix something depending on what is wrong. That can be removing some spurs, fixing a torn ligament, or even microfracture surgery. The more you fix, the more swelling/inflammation and time it takes to heal and fix things. So Arthroscopic Knee Surgery and a Knee Scope are technically the same thing depending on who is discussing. Having said that, some people will say "Scope" if they just looked around and did not do anything and some people will people will say "arthroscopic surgery" if they did something small like removed a spur. Not a hard-fast rule though.
