This is really the key for him. The #1 job of the QB in Tennessee is to not screw up. In the past, he was making lots and lots of mistakes. If he can avoid that, he'll be able to keep starting and try to develop the other parts of his game. But if he keeps turning it over, he's probably done in Tennessee. So far, so good on that front, but it's only been two games.
Memories definitely could be wrong, I was young at the time. What I do remember was that there were two efforts trying to get the NHL team into Houston at the same time, one was by Les and one was by McNair, and they ended up undermining each other. For some reason I thought Les had the more compromised plan/better chance plan but it could've just being the Rockets bias. But like I've said, it was way too long ago so my facts could be fuzzy. Hey, I admit there are other bias as well. I left Houston before Texans came, they sucked, and then they actually pass up on the hometown hero (even though admittedly, it was the right move football-wise). Once again, I admit some of it was not rational. I am a big fan of Vince Young, he went to a team that use to play in Houston. I feel zero connection to the Texans and Young going to Titans definitely tipped the scale. I also dislike Bud Adams for moving the team but did not find a demand for a new stadium unreasonable. Not drafting Vince Young was a great football move for the Texans, but maybe not the best move for a young franchise to get the city on its side.
That is interesting, I thought they made a mistake in not taking Vince, but I like Mario a lot, so no real harm there, and Mario has been great, for the most part. Vince is coming along though, I think Fisher mismanaged this whole situation, and it will be interesting to see if the Titans keep winning what happens between him and VY. Remember, you can't spell VictorY without the V and the Y. DD
I am really not feeling good about that game. The titans are gonna be pissed and the VY jerseys will be in full force. I will be curious what the line is. If it is with the records of the teams (3-6 vs 5-4) I bet Titans cover easily.
For the Texans . . . this is the TRAP game On paper. It is a game they should win . . . I hesitate to say win easily but . . .they should win. Losing this game IMO will cost them the Playoffs. Mainly because I see them Losing 2 other games [Mia, Jac, Indy, NE - I see them going 2-2 at best in these games] and 9-7 is not going to cut it for the playoffs this year Rocket River
LOL, you are the one saying it is all CJ when I am pretty sure he has been playing all season. They are down a pro bowl TE and the titans are down a QB that coughed up the rock to help us barely win the last game. I don't think it is really a game on paper that should be ours. Wish I was a betting man. I agree though, lose this and it is likely over.
CaseyH, this guy is just a UT Austin hater. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=4881413 He's probably not a real Rockets fan either. If Ralph Sampson and Moses Malone walked by him he probably wouldn't know who they were. Hating on Mack Brown? hahaha.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/recap?gid=20091115010 “Defenses, they have to choose,” Johnson said. “Do you want to stop 10 (Young)? Or do you want to stop (28)? That’s what me and Vince say every day. Whichever one you choose to stop, the other one is going to have a good day.” ....... Young and Johnson teamed up to show the NFL how to run the option on their next drive. Young pitched out to Johnson, who ran 32 yards to set up a 38-yard field goal from Bironas for a 17-7 lead. Jauron called Johnson a tremendous back with exceptional speed and balance. “He accelerates so quickly, and the option adds a whole new dimension. The option play is really difficult to defend,” Jauron said.
hhhmmmm . . interesting I wonder. What his relationship was like with Collins? Is it possible the Players are Playing harder for VY? I don't think so . . . but . . i wonder Rocket River
I have wondered if a similar thing is happening to Slaton with regards to the offensive line. Surely its just coincidence, but linemen seem to get completely obliterated more often with Slaton running than Moats...
