If Power Rangers was the 1st thought that came to you when you saw the posts in this thread, you are too young.... Read the Wikipedia link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltron
Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime is the actual common link between Voltron and TF. He did narration and character voice work in Voltron <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ub5bl2QNHPw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Excited and scarred at the same time. I had to get used to Bayformers, really don't want to have to get used to a watered down version of Voltron.
never heard of them, i thought this was another star trek movie than when i looked them up i thought this was the animated power rangers.
Side note for Voltron fans- there's a new board game out that is insanely fun. A must for any fan, and it's a good war game too. More info here http://monsterpocalypse.com/voltron
This thread really showed the age of some of the folks, I loved Voltron as a kid, had both of them. Well see what comes of this, still would rather have a Robotech movie....
Only Voltron I know......... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vjLhyi9eGFQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Never watched it as a kid, sort of aware that it existed. I was more into Saint Seiya and Doraemon during those times.
Greatest theme ever. Are they really gonna try to compete with that? I'll still watch it though. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eO_CmTds74w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Animated reboot from Netflix: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NXW1waqRCb0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Also Voltron is re-edited footage from Beast King GoLion which originally aired in Japan in 1981. The first Sentai show featuring the combining robot motif appeared in 1980 in Japan, narrowly edging the source material for Voltron.
