No, he doesnt have to say that either...but, predicting superbowls and hall of fame inductions when he is a backup is probably just a stupid thing to say. He already has enough pressure on him as it is, why add to it? If he has to talk about his career, a simple, "Im working hard, trying to bounce back and show what I can do", would suffice. Of course, idiotic comments should be expected from someone with his wonderlic scores...not the sharpest tool in the shed.
I think its actually sad. Mack rode his coattails and didn't bother preparing him for the NFL or real life. Mack Brown the fraud is the blame here IMO.
Why is it a college coach's job to prepare a QB for the NFL? A college coach's job is to win football games. No one put a gun to VY's head and told him to leave early for the NFL...
What? Since when is it a coaches' job to prepare his players for life? Mack didn't tell Vince to leave a year early. Mack didn't tell Vince to surround himself with idiots. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvpI2HJkL34 Please just watch this speech. The last minute is the best part. I'm tired of everyone hating on Mack. I can guarantee you Meyer or Leach or Miles wouldn't say some of the things he said. In fact, if I were a parent and I wanted a coach who would prepare my son for real life, I'd probably have Mack at the top of my list.
I think he prepared Vince pretty well. In the tune of 50 million bucks. That being said, Mack got a big raise because of Vince, so it was mutually beneficial relationship.
