Yeah i think we need to rest Harden the starters and CP3, I haven seen enough today with this ****ing POS Mills where he tried to hurt Tucker and Green, there no point in even winning anymore, we locked up the 1 need seed throughout the entire league just rest everyone.

I think it was not intentional. MIlls was just trying to box out rebounder and Tucker unfortunately took off..

This is my thought as well. Looks like he kept his eyes on the ball the whole time, whereas Vince half-assedly stuck an arm out.

    Are you delusional?
Watch the video from the 28 second mark to the 47 second mark.

Patty Mills shot the ball and PJ Tucker immediately went up for a rebound.
Patty Mills was not boxing out and made no attempt to rebound the ball.
If Patty was trying to rebound the ball, he should have jump up when it was coming off the rim.

Patty immediately slid (38 second mark) about two to the left and underneath PJ Tucker as soon as PJ Tucker jumped in the air.
When you slide underneath another player and crouch down, you prevent the other player from landing on their feet.
Clearly intentional and malicious which is why Jeff Van Gundy asked, "do you want that to be a flagrant foul?"

Have you even played basketball or are you a couch potato?
You box out to gain a favorable position so that you are in position to grab a rebound.
You can't box out when another person is already in the air trying to grab the rebound.

Make sure you watch LaMarcus and James Harden on that same play.
The both of them are trying to box each other out.
That is how you play a rough, physical game of basketball but also clean.

The Patty Mills play was clearly dirty.

have I played basketball? I've played and I'm a high school basketball official.. so yes

ok... I assume you know patty mills is 6'2 .. second he's not going to out jump anyone when rebounding.. you know that...right?

mills felt someone on his back and he blocked out... it's not that hard to understand... well for most people I guess...

basketball 101... when rebounding you block out... lol

I suppose you are telling everyone here that when rebounding you always turn around to look to see if the player is in the air... is that what you're telling us?

oh and genius why didn't mark jackson agree it wasn't a flagrant foul? because it wasn't...

No, I did not know that Patty was 6'2".
I don't know why you are pointing that out since Patty's height is irrelevant.

You can box out, irrespective of your height.
If the other person is stronger and taller than you, they are going to be able to out muscle you and be in position to grab a rebound.
However, short guys can grab rebounds with quickness, hustle and beating other guys to the ball.

I will say it again since you can not seem to comprehend what Patty did.
Patty immediately slid two feet to his left and underneath PJ the moment PJ jumped in the air.
It was not a basketball play since their was no attempt to grab the rebound.

but he didn't know he was in the air.. which is my point.. hence not a dirty play. dirty plays require intent

Dirty play, watch it again as he slides his ass towards the baseline into PJ's line of motion, who is also clearly already in the air. You box out early, not late. If you're that late, then you gotta jump and go for the ball.
A clean boxout means you have already established your position in front of the offensive player.

Doesn't matter, you don't randomly move on the basketball court, especially at that level. That's why it's extra dangerous playing with amateurs that have poor body coordination. I'd expect more from a professional.

If a NASCAR driver starts texting during a race and didn't intend to crash into people that doesn't absolve them from consequences where they should have known better.

doesn't look like that at all. the outcome of the play itself can probably be considered a little dirty though. but nothing says PM deliberately saw PJ. Just one of those unfortunate plays. Could of been worse though.
