    Young to replace Rivers at Pro Bowl

    One day after he was won the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year award at the Super Bowl, Tennessee quarterback Vince Young found out that he will be going to the Pro Bowl to play for the AFC.

    Young, who finished 8-5 as a starter, was voted the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press after the season.

    Young replaces San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers, who was forced to withdraw from the Pro Bowl because of an ankle injury. Young was the second alternate behind Tom Brady, who also withdrew.

    Young will play behind Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer for the AFC Pro Bowl team on Feb. 10 in Honolulu.

    Congrats VY but I thought JP Losman, Steve McNair, and Chad Pennington, were more deserving.

    The pro bowl is slowly turning into the Rookie bowl.. vets just dont want to bother with it anymore...

    would it have more meaning in the middle of the season?

    it seems to me this is the best format for the NFL to use... it's also pointless.
