Similar could mean he will play the same style as KG not exactly meet his accomplishments in his entire career.

Do you remember how many times Jordan was an all-star (won the fan popularity contest) or all nba first team? Does that really matter when talking about how great someone was? Kevin Garnett, to anyone who cares about WINNING, is a one-time NBA MVP and one time NBA champion who was highly touted his whole career but never won as much as all those sexy all-nba and all-star selections indicate. You may want to look up 'similar' in the dictionary for some more reference.

This thread is like that Nbadraft.net web site with the player comparisons.

Jermaine O'Neill, Kevin Garnett, Amare Stoudamire etc. are just so out there. Other than being 6'10"+ and athletic, there just isn't that lot of common.

We keep hearing that Jordan Hill has a jumper. How many have we seen him hit?

We keep hearing that Jordan Hill is a shotblocker. He averages around 1.3 per 36min which is the same as Carl Landry this year with Rockets and less than Shane Battier. His college numbers also don't support the theory that he will become a shotblocking force in the NBA, no matter how raw or how old he was when he started to play.

I (somewhat) jokingly mentioned Anderson Varejao with better offensive skills as his most likely end-of-the-road comparison. They both seem to run the court very well, have that all-around hustle and good motor, rebound about the same and block about the same number of shots. If Jordan adds a jumpshot and improves his postskills, that is not so bad really. It's probaby never going to get him to an allstar game, but it's a very nice result for a "throw-in in a T-Mac trade".

    So would Horace Grant be a bad comparison?Because i can see him being that type of player next season for us. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TWVPhBnyZ5s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TWVPhBnyZ5s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    NBA Comparison: Chris Bosh
Strengths: One of the most improved players this year … Has the ideal size and length for a PF … He has worked on his body, adding some bulk and definition to an already wiry frame; this new strength allows him to get great position on the block where he is able to utilize a number of moves, but he prefers the left shoulder hook shot … He is comfortable operating from the high post, either shooting a nice looking midrange shot, or utilizing his quickness and putting the ball on the floor to get to the hoop … His faceup game developed nicely; not only has he become a consistent threat out to about 17 feet, but he has added some nice sweep and jab moves to go along with it … Even with the added muscle, he has maintained good mobility and quickness … This season he is playing big minutes but he continues to battle and run the floor, showing a very good motor … He has become a rebounding force on both ends of the floor, he attacks the O glass relentlessly and is able to use his body to control the paint on the defensive end … He has cut down his fouls and increased blocks to 3 per game, proving not only that he is a defensive presence but also that he has become more disciplined … With his developing frame and ability to knock down midrange shots, he has the potential to become a very good weapon in screen & roll situations …

Weaknesses: He has definitely come a long way, but his inexperience still shows at times … When operating in traffic or while facing double teams, he struggles, putting his head down and turning the ball over frequently … A part of the problem could be his hands, often times he doesn’t catch the ball clean, which allows the defense to converge on him and get him out of his comfort zone … His athleticism and strength also get him into trouble at times as he tries to bully through the defense rather than take what they give him … On the block he favors his right hand on finishes (even when turning to his right shoulder), usually exposing the ball back to the defender, and making his shots much more difficult than they have to be … While he has made strides with his maturity, there are still periods of lackadaisical play that he goes through … His lack of focus is also seen at the line, where he shoots a poor 60% on the season (he has shown he can be reliable, going 9-12 and 9-10 in separate outings this season) …

He seems to have a lot of potential unrealized because the Knicks = bad management.

    Kevin Garnett Rookie Year ('95-'96): 10.4 pts, 6.3 reb in 29 mins/game.

I'm officially done with this thread, we'll see how the kid develops.

You're being an ass with your previous comments.

You also don't seem to get why they are completely different. Stop looking at stats. Their playing style is completely different. Watch the below video of KG and tell me how on earth Jordan Hill reminds you of this.

your math is horrible... hes averaging 9.4, in fact he hasnt even scored more than 13, so how you got that number is beyond me.

i wish people would stop overrating so many players on this team. he got a couple ugly garbage points doing that ugly ass spinning hook shot... ughhh

    I like that comparison.

He still needs to develop that midrange shot (a shot I feel every good PF should have). Hopefully he does not fall in love with it like O'Neal did.

One thing he does have is upside. Potential. Right now he is not as good as Turiaf or Varaejao but he has the potential to be alot better.

He has only been playing basketball for 5 years and is doing a solid job at the highest level. He is big, athletic, and seems to have a good attitude and willing to learn (given the development of the jump hook which is still developing but he just started working with CD recently).

Needs more work on his post game (including the development of a go-to move), needs to develop a midrange shot (a shot every great PF has. Weird cuz we hear he is hitting it in practice, yet to see it in a game. Tho he has been solid from the stripe). He is pretty active on the boards and defense which is good, as his basketball IQ progresses over time (working with CD, hopefully Dream and Yao as well), both of those areas should improve as well.

I can see why he was picked 8th overall (then again I watched quite a bit of Zona and once said he has Bosh-like upside, I stand by that comment but as of right now, he is far from). Hopefully he can develop into a good bigman for us.
