Well on his way to replacing Howard.;)

Love the athleticism and strong moves to the basket. Needs to work on his jumper but he reminds a bit of Marcus Camby.

The best part of it all was that he set the pick and rolled to the basket with ease. They weren't fast break dunks. The kid showed real force. Once he gets stronger, he will get even better at it.

I have thought for some time Capela had the highest ceiling of all our bigs.

Very good showing today, except for the 8 missed fts. He will improve on that once he gets more confortable.

Capela is the new line of monstrous big men. I have no doubt he will put up some 20-20 stats next year. We have our own Gobert, guys.

Somebody posted in another thread a while back that Capela actually had better numbers than Rudy Gobert at the same age overseas. With that in mind, I was curious about Gobert's rookie numbers and wanted to see what his best overall game as a rookie was last year. Ironically enough, he scored 8 points on 4-5, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots in 14 minutes in the last game of the season. Not really important I guess, but I got a little kick out of it.

And yet again... Beverley's injury is a blessing in disguise.

Pablo is good. Real good for this team.

He's going to wow a lot of people (a lot from the Houston fan base) these Playoffs.

He is going to eliminate at least some of Kevin McHale's stupidity.

The guy has improved with hard work. Not sure if he's ready to be part of a playoff rotation, but showed enough to make me sure he's our backup C next year,

I just don't understand that when we were having such problems rebounding (a few weeks back) that Capela didn't get some minutes. He's very solid at 3 things: rebounding, defense (mainly blocks) and athleticism/finishing by dunking. I think he could have helped us in those times.

This was the quote I was referencing. I actually misquoted. he said Capela had better numbers over there than Gobert despite being a year younger.

Same guy also provided a link to Capela outplaying potential 1st pick in the draft Jahlil Okafor in a matchup.

    Okafor: 1 for 9, 5 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk in 27 min.

    Capela: 8 for 21, 19 pts, 20 reb, 3 blks in 25 min.

He took 5 three pointers by the way for some reason which dropped his FG%

I see Serge Ibaka in this dude. I don't want him to bulk up too much to try to be the stereotypical lumbering center, stay lean and keep the agility while putting on the muscles.
