Go watch the video, and comment after seeing for yourself. I said bad defense when either of them played bad defense. Explaining something over to a bunch of shoot the messenger folks is a waste of time.

Take the time yourself to review the plays.

Problem is your ratings of "bad" and "good" defense are obviously subjective, and your personal bias is practically dripping off your review. In fact, on a couple of T-will's "horrible" defensive possessions you placed blame on him when the help defender was clearly the one at fault.

You're a good poster but you allow your own personal biases to cloud your vision for whatever reason.

Anyways, T-will is clearly the better defender. He was considered elite (defensively) at Louisville, and in time hopefully he'll reach that distinction at the professional level.

I never claimed it to be a perfect measure.

However, when it is consistently low for a particular player, it becomes more significant.

I never said he was the only one who was bad.

In fact I said quite the opposite...

The problem is he wasn't fighting through the screens. He was avoiding contact to get over screens.

NBA players (even Redick and Turkoglu) are too quick for that **** to work.

You have to sense the screen coming and position yourself to fight through it.

The funny thing is that I like the guy, want him to do well, but just see him trying a bit too hard, and screwing up because of it.

His lack of attention to the details of the game of basketball are what is maddening, he could be so good, if he just focused.

Someone send him a perscription for Ridilin, he needs it.

I'd think that would encourage him to post more.

Have to say, my thoughts from last year exactly. I really want him to settle down and let the game move around him more-he can explode at any time. it really is true that it takes a few years for most who are going to excel to have the game slow down so they both anticipate and facilitate.

TW shows the marks of above average at every turn...this is critical year for him. I will not pre-judge him ..later in the season..(30 in) we will have clearer picture..is he a bust or did we (K McHale) create the right environment for that talent to finally leave "potential" land?...
that's another reason why the word "tank" is obscene, it suggests players not give thier all. stuff that in Life and on the court!
