A lot of guys go for the steal when they know a time out is about to be called. Nothing new here. Westbrook should of been expecting it. Unfortunate situation though for OKC though. But it will be interesting how Durant will carry this team by himself.

Correct as well. Refs often do a horrible job in blowing the whistle on fouls, timeouts, which screws up possessions and the game. Blow timeouts promptly. A foul is a foul, regardless of whether the shot goes in or how badly the guy seems to be injured after getting hit. Both slow reactions and "managing" the game are simply BAD refereeing. Sick of it, and they are part of making today's game simply bad basketball.

Both plays are fine. Westbrook trying to stick his knee into Bev, if that was his intent, should be held more accountable for a dick move.

Thank you, Clutch! If Russ WussBook can't get over this, he is just a sad punk that thinks he deserves everything.

Thank you Clutch. People who think Bev was playing dirty either are biased or don't watch much basketball. This is literally the exact same play, but Lin was more aware than Westbrook was.

Makes me feel better and better about it when I realize WB arguably caused this by being dirty.

What are you trying to say? Was it a dirty play?

So you want a player to tone it down in the playoffs? No thank you. This is the NBA. 1 step is the difference between a steal and a wide open dunk.

You want the Rockets to play the game soft and yet the Thunder beat up the Rockets and Lin got injured last night when Thabo decided I'm gonna elbow him because he beat me.

It happens all the time in the NBA and anybody that thinks it was wrong or a dirty play is just wrong.

Very different scenarios. With Bev, time out was clearly called earlier, but Bev either heard it and went for a steal or didn't hear it and went for a steal. Here, no time out, and WB could not have seen it.

The time out was clearly called and Bev fouled him going for a steal; therefore, the ref should have given either a foul or a technical foul against Bev. It was definitely not a dirty play though, but a foul nevertheless.

Let's be logical here. In Lin's case, a time-out was not called, so WB had every right to go for a steal. In Bev's case, a time-out was clearly called. However, no dirty play or an intention to hurt there. To me, that was a clear foul or a technical foul. I remember saying to myself "Hah, Bev got away with a foul there."

    Watch the video again.

Beverley went for the steal literally at the same moment the ref began blowing the whistle. The contact occurred just right after.

Why would a foul be assessed when the actual contact occurred after the whistle? Players getting fouled after the buzzer don't get rewarded in any way.

The difference is that the Thunder were up 17 points already no need for Westbrook to make a dangerous play when it was obvious the Rockets were calling about to call a timeout!
