agreed. im harsh on d12 as well but if he could do half the stuff dream did, he'd be a complete juggernaut
You think? Years of soccer provided guys like Hakeem and Steve Nash superior foot awareness. Soccer is a great sport and a young kid playing that sport prior to basketball and football will benefit tremendously and have reduced chances of injuries due to foot conditioning and awareness. It's a gateway sport to aid in development.
Yao is huge, he doesn't even need to do a fake up and under. In fact, it's impossible and literally inefficient for one of the biggest and tallest basketball players to do half of Hakeem's moves. Yao doing the up and under would sooner or later result a strip or tripping over the defender because all he has to do is blow by and go up higher. Hakeem understands this and knows it's unreasonable for Yao to do half to most of his bread and butter moves.
good to see the dream. i am rooting for dwight howard's offensive post game to really come around this year.
Dwight looked really good in that vid. I expect him to improve his offense this year and maybe challenge the Heat in the east.
Metal Head Couldn't Beat the turtles during his prime. Turtles capture reprogram him hoping he would become a valuable ally. Couldn't handle being a real turtle, blew up never seen again until later in the season as a simple cleaning tool. Thrown away probably picked up by Baxter Stockman =IF((Turtle = Rockets) AND (1987 Baxter Stockman = STANVAN)) result should return TRUE.
Finally a clear video of hakeem training an nba athlete. Showed me a couple things hakeem still got it and if dwight picks up on those moves this season he is def going to be hard to stop.
While improving footwork and post-up moves will always help, Howard will never reach Olajuwon status offensively until he improves his shooting touch. You can't have a fadeaway or a dreamshake without being able to shoot. That being said, Howard looked decent shooting the ball during the video so maybe there's still hope for him. I found it amusing when Howard referred to himself as an undersized center. He's anything but undersized.
I think you guys are missing the point... Dream's teaching a mentality through the moves, not the moves themselves. Go-to, counter, leverage, use you speed, quickness, be the man, think like a center, think like a SF. After he spent some time with Yao, Yao talked about the mentality Dream had been preaching... secure the paint, make yourself a force in the lane. From Moses through Dream and to this generation, the mentality of the dominant center shall not perish no matter how hard ESPN and AAU and European "big" men and all those bball coaches who were all guards try. Dream speaks the truth of basketball.
Man, screw Dampier, we should sign the Dream to a 2 year/4 mill contract right now! Dude looks like he could still average about 10/8 right now.
geez hakeem still looked fast. crazy i think he could still play 7 or 8 minutes a night and do well for a season.
It warms my heart that Dream is so willing to pass his knowledge on to the next generation. He seems like a great teacher and still a great athlete. We were lucky as hell to see him in Houston for all those years.
