I'd like to bring in Brandon Rush. Deadly 3 pt shooter, plus defender, he'd fit right in. Depends if we unload some players first though.

morey is a genius .. instead of paying like 30 million this year for a turkish player (turkalo) and a 7 ft center (howard) .... he got a turkish 7 footer .. 2 birds one stone

What about birdman? Didn't he get amenisty by Denver a couple of weeks ago? Or did he get picked up already? Does he play PF also? Lol I can't imagine what free agent he would go for though? It seems every position is stacked as of right now except the Center and SG spot.

He is talking a few years down the road. This team should have the chance to grow together. I hope Machado makes the squad.

Honestly, no homer, that move would make us a playoff team today.

if not, we're lottery bound (but not terrible). Asik is wayyyy better than most give him credit for. You have to understand what creates wins in the NBA. Asik has it.

We were as far away from being a contender as is possible this last year.

After reading the chron article http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/07/by-adding%E2%80%A8asik-lin%E2%80%A8team-has%E2%80%A8its-building%E2%80%A8blocks/ I think Morey sure as hell wants All-Stars now but will not settle for less!! Thus, he is prepared to trade at the deadline or be an even bigger player in the next offseason. He hopes the rookies grow fast so he can ship them out of here for an established All-Star asap. I hope Dwight is not coming, we see what the rookies can do and be a player in 2013. Remember, we have a lot more cap space next offseason than now.

How would this help us? I thought we're trying to be bad? Iguodala by himself will help us win some games but it'll put us back toward getting a lower lottery pick. Iggy also isn't the kind of player that FAs are gonna flock to to play with. I'd rather keep the #1 (as the number 1 picks we currently own are likely to be lottery picks).

Per Morey : "We’re going to have stretches when we play great. We’re going to have stretches when we don’t play well at all. We like overall where it’s leading us this next season.”

It's official we're shooting for the best possible pick.

    But it's the TRUTH!

Aleron said it best a few posts above. Being stuck in mediocrity placed the Rockets farther away from contention than if they were actually WORSE.

I personally think that the current roster will not be as good on the court this season as last season's team. However, they have more youth with upside and have way, way more cap flexibility.

THOSE are the reasons why the team is closER to contention. Not that they'll win at a higher clip right away.
