[Video] Kostas Papanikolaou Highlights (12 points, 4 threes) vs. Jazz

Too early to tell after 2 games, but if he can even come close to replacing what Parsons brought offensively to the team, this will turn out to be a huge addition to the bench.

 

Maturity level-wise, I think he's proving he has a level head and is not fazed by bad shooting or mistakes. His Greek fans say he's always one of the most hardest-working players on his teams.

Whereas Chandler maturity-wise seems to have regressed.

 

Papa will be better than Chandler eventually!

 

Is Papanikolaou the 3rd star we've been waiting for? Will Papanikolaou be a Hall of Famer?

 

To be fair, the Spanish league is arguably the second best league in the world so yeah.....and the Dleague is not.

Covington can blow up all he wants in RVG (he shined in the perfect team team setting/system). He is expendable

 

They will abolish the hall of fame and just build a Papanikolaou museum after he's finished with the NBA. Probably.

 

I know it's early, but pretty impressive numbers amongst other rookies, especially with limited time

The assists number is more impressive. 4 assist per game as a rookie with limited minutes is very good. His assists per 36 minutes is elite category for a non point guard.

 

Nikolaou will be the best Greek so far... book it....not that many successful ones in the NBA

 

Small sample and all, but it seems Papa can't get to the basket for layups the way Parsons can. Maybe he's still getting used to being a playmaker, but I thought that was kind of the big missing play from not having Parsons.

Not complaining overall though, because Parsons' defense was the big issue here and both Pap and Ariza actually play some of that.

 

Luckily Papa is showing he is 10x the passer Parsons is

 

parsons is an nba starter, high level role player, papa so far has shown to be a good bench player, there's quite a margin.

 

Comparing their skillsets rather than player.

 

I know you're joking and obviously it will take a massive improvement for him to have even a 1% chance of making it, but he does have 2 Euroleague titles and a F4 MVP, which might help a bit. Now if only the Rockets could get some chips and he could start hitting 3's at a 45% clip, heh.

 

That's weird because there are Youtube videos of him doing the same things. I've seen him do the things he's doing I just wasn't sure he could do thing in the NBA, he proved himself in the preseason, the next challenge was regular season. Hopefully he keeps getting better.

There're pretty excited about his play... while he's not shooting at all (0/4 3pt !), but 13/19 (68.4%) 2pt - almost al of them close to basket: drives, moving without ball, offensive board, fast breaks.
And they also call him - "the most willing to distribute ball player" in the team...

 

Well, good for him and them? He wasn't working out for us, but there's no animosity, I wish he does well wherever he is. The Kings are in a similar situation to us, they like their new guy because they're overachieving right now. The "Harden for MVP", "McHale for CotY", "Papa is Larry Legend", "Hail Lord Threeza" threads will die down when the first negative results come and so will the Kings' enthusiasm on Casspi.
