Sure it's only one night out of a long grind, but I couldn't have asked for more! The Rockets dominated with Dwight on the bench, the Mavs lost, Ariza/Parsons both made Morey look even more like a genius, Lin was a non-factor, Harden played elite offense while not taking breaks on defense, and Kobe/Dwight provided us with some end-game entertainment.
No, but I also thought that whole thing was way overblown. That, like this, is nothing. I did enjoy seeing Kobe's ultra **** personality come out.

Kobe: I'm the Black Mamba, I'm the Black Mamba, HSSSSS!! Dwight: What the F#CK?!! Get the F#CK away from me! Kobe: I'm the Black Mamba! I'ma b****u Dwight! Dwight: (chuckling now) Crazy ass motha F#cka! I know you man! Kobe: (mad face) HSSSSS! Dwight: I know you fruit loop! (laughing) Kobe: Mamba!
Agreed 100% You seem like sensible fan. Many of these guys probably think Kobe was so wrong AND Patrick did no wrong.
Kobe was trying to get a reaction from Dwight, plain and simple.. Neither of them have really mixed it up with anyone else or been successful at it, in the NBA. So, nothing was going to happen, just talk.
The way the intertubes is reacting right now, you'd think Dwight just slit the throat of a baby deer on national television.
kobe jus tryin to remain relevant for sportscenter air time... since he aint gonna be relevant in the standings...lol
I always thought as a player you had the right to move within your space. It didn't look like he was swinging to hit, more like trying to avoid having it stolen. Kobe didn't even seem to flinch that much, hopefully common sense prevails and no suspension comes from it.
A play with 4 minutes and change left in the first quarter is not the same as a 20+ point game halfway through the 4th quarter. Beverly might have fouled Gasol and if he did, then it's up for the refs to call it. Kobe actually backed off, saw that it's Dwight and went up there to prove a point. It all looked personal.
