Navarro is a player of videogame, push the shot botton and he makes the basket. Doesn't matter the type of shot, the situation, the position of his body... he shoots it and makes the basket. ... ****in genius. 10 years watching him and still amazes me.

IMHO, his rookie season in the NBA wasn't too bad. It was too bad that he left.

He's like royalty in European basketball. Why would he want to be just another player in the NBA?

I was disappointed he left after one season. I thought he could be a quality starter in the league for most if not all NBA teams.

Very few NBA players hold a candle to Navarro.

You are absolutely right. Only a select few hold a candle to Juan Carlos...

    Juan Carlos Navarro
    82 Games with Memphis
    FG%= .402
    3FG%= .361

    Trevor Ariza
    72 Games with Houston
    FG%= .394
    3FG%= .334

    Rafer Alston
    82 Games with Houston
    FG%= .375
    3FG%= .363

    Vassilis Spanoulis
    31 Games with Houston
    FG%= .319
    3FG% .172

(At least the bottom three can play defense... Darwin...)

Everyone can use a 40% shooter that can't defend, nor efficiently create for others, right?

The Rockets sure could use him, seeing how he is vastly superior to every single guard on the Rockets roster.

The stats certainly back that up, Billy Bean...

A paunchy 47-year old security guard at the RocketsShop at T-Center would obliterate him off the dribble and send him crying home to spain to live out the rest of his days as a lonesome stable boy who atttends to the horses that carry off the dead bodies after bullfights. .

    3FG=44

    2007-2008 Juan Carlos Navarro
    82 Games

    2 APG
    3 RPG
    FG=40

Juan Carlos consistently outplayed by the likes of Rafer, Bonzi and Luther Head... Complete NBA Legends...

Juan Carlos Navarro is essentially a 2006-2007 version of Luther Head, without the jumpshot...

DO NOT WANT anyone who is "royalty" but wont play in the NBA for the simple fact that they are weak sauce. If you are dominant in your minor league and you do not want to play in the NBA it only means one of three things (if not all 3):

1: You are scared to play the best of the best i.e. not good enough
2: Your ego is so hyper inflated that the only reason you play the game is for the ATTENTION of your leagues fan base
3: You put other things infront of your passion for the game.

If 1, I dont want you because you will under-preform, and back down from challenges / shiztalk.
If 2, I dont want you because you will not adjust your playing style for the needs of your new team and you will be over-reactive to criticism (both public and locker room) i.e. drama.
If 3, you've simply got better things to do. If you do not play in the NBA for your passion for the game as your primary reason, you will not make it very long.

All in all, any of these issues will cause a rift between you and your teammates / coaches / fan base in the NBA. This leads to bench time, D-league time, and no contribution to success.

It's akin to OHMMS declaring he's too good for Clutchfans and then running over to Spurstalk and digging up Kill_Bill_Pana.

Since some people here seem to love this obsession with posting stats of certain European players in the NBA to prove that they "suck", have a look at this:

Deron Williams' first official game in Europe. Playing in the EuroChallenge, a league that is two league levels BELOW the Euroleague level:

    35 Minutes

    3-15 Field Goals
    1-7 3 Point Field Goals
    8-8 Free Throws

    15 Points
    9 Assists
    2 Rebounds

    3 Steals
    0 Blocks

    4 Fouls
    2 Turnovers

    Box Score:

    http://www.fibaeurope.com/cid_KNce8...MZ6JB01.season_2012.roundID_8594.teamID_.html

Ty Lawson playing in his first official game in Europe, playing in the United League, playing against a team Kalev that does not even play in a European competition at all, and plays in one of the worst national domestic leagues in Europe (Estonia)..........so even lower level competition than the third teir European level that Williams was playing against.

    17 Minutes

    0-3 Field Goals
    0-0 3 Point Field Goals
    3-4 Free Throws

    3 Points
    1 Assist
    5 Rebounds

    0 Steals
    0 Blocks

    3 Fouls
    0 Turnovers

    Box Score:

Wow, Ty Lawson and Deron Williams, playing against competition that is WELL BELOW Euroleague level, and playing like total crap.
