He can also Score and hit FT's. Although Yao is injured, this is a Golden Opportunity For Hill to Help The Rockets Get Those W's

    great vid, thanks clutch!

jordan makes me very excited. we've really lacked good anticipation w/ blocked shots over the last few years, so i love to see someone in a rockets jersey so aggressive at the rim. the way hill has progressed is really impressive.

the guy needs 30+ minutes consistently. let him grow into the player he can be. let him ride out his mistakes and inconsistencies.

the team has nothing to lose.

I just love the fact that when Bullard asked Jordan of wht to think of his great performances, he replied with 3 instances where he stressed that he just wanted to help his team wins.

If it were a guy lik tmac or gilbert arenas, or anyone with an attitude problem, the answer would probably be different and be like "I knew I could do this all along....."

Letting him "ride out" his mistakes and inconsistencies may back fire and reinforce his mistakes and inconsistencies. The reason why a lot of bad teams stay bad even with a roster full of young potential, who inevitably never pan out, is because none of them are held accountable for their mistakes. Therefore they are doomed to repeat them.

This may not be the case for all rookies. Some of them are mature, refined enough where if they make a mistake, they are cognizant of what needs to be corrected. Guys like Brandon Roy or even a Landry Fields are like that. They have high enough of basketball IQs where there is no benefit in benching them for rare mistakes.

Jordan Hill is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Physically he has everything that is needed. He even has most of the skills needed. What he lacks is in the mental department. Thinking out the game and not making mistakes. The only way to correct this is by tireless repetition and an accountability when he does something wrong. Kind of like training a dog. No offense to Jordan.

When he makes too many mistakes he is pulled and shown what he did wrong- punishment. When he doesn't make mistakes he is rewarded with finishing out the game. This is the only way to train an otherwise raw talent with questionable basketball IQ. A reward and punishment system. Without it, his mistakes and inconsistencies will turn into habits, which would spell doom for a promising prospect.

The irony is, by giving him free reign, what we stand to lose is Jordan Hill.

Watching tonight's game is the exact reason why we should go get young talented players that were former lottery picks. The culture of the team, professionalism, and overall winning environment we expedite the youngster's development process. All of these players were lottery picks. Only 1 has NBA experience and development in our ROCKETS' culture (HILL)

    # 8 Hill
    #11 Williams
    #14 Patterson
    #14 Randolph
    #2 Thabeet

They all will grow on this team as long as we KEEP the blue collar workers that create the hard working tough environment (Battier,Lowry,Hayes). Those vets are the heart and sould of this team.

Haha at the look that old guy gives Jared Jeffries after a shoulder bump on the bench at 1:14-1:15.

"Jordan Hill growin' up right in front of ya!" Bill described it well. The end of this game was a step forward for Jordan. Not only did Hill do exactly what Adelman had him in to do, but he made Cousins his meat. The block where he went to the floor for the ball, watch Hill's eyes prior to the block. He's following Cousins and the ball like it's a stick waved around in front of a retriever. Totally locked into the play. On the floor, Cousins tried to turn Jordan's head into a pancake. Didn't faze Hill a bit. That was as excited as I've been about a center making a play in the post on defense in a hell of a long time. If we trade this guy now I'm going to be seriously pissed off.

Loved the video, Clutch! Just what I wanted to see.

We don't have Randolph or Thabeet. Are some of you guys off your rocker?

Great performance by J-Hill though. The Rockets' future isn't looking too shabby.

Just echoing the praises in previous posts, but damn... Rockets wins, they sure make for happy stuff. It was just sweet to see Jordan make his minutes count like this - Guy looked awesome out there!

(As for those couple of missed dunks... well okay, okay, but at least the dude's got the right ideas, you know? ;) )
