[Video] James Harden's 17-point 4th quarter to beat Timberwolves

First, Yao and Tmac did exactly this a number of times. Those guys, and T-Mac in particular, won us a ton of games by performing at an even higher level down the stretch (13 in 33? Game 2 against Dallas in 2005?). I love Harden, but what he's doing is not as unprecedented as you make it seem. When he does this in the playoffs, then we can say that we haven't had that since Dream. I'm hoping that he does exactly that.

 

Spoken just like someone who only reads box scores. Harden has gained as much if not more than any Rocket through transition. And he has had more than his shares of troubles in the half court. This was not evident if only you watched the games.

 

Glad Harden didn't do his iso-dribbling out the shot clock and throw up a last second brick. We're on our way to the top!

Rubio should be ashamed by that flop. Dude deserves a fine. People praised his defense last season but I always thought he was an egregious flopping machine who deserved more critcism.

 

Rubio is an underrated man-to-man defender

I liked Parson's follow to the basket after Harden on that last layup. All the Wolves just standing in cement watching Harden go to the hoop while Parsons is aggressively going to the board. Good bball IQ by our young guns on that last play. JH is a flat out baller.

 

Harden was a beast last night and won us the game...but the bench brought us back in the game.

 

It seems like he's finally realized that nobody can stop him when he goes to the basket. Much better than throwing up contested 3s when we need a basket.

 

Nice - we (Harden mostly) did everything right at the end while the TWolves did everything wrong.

Everyone played like crap yesterday, that's apply to both teams. Harden didn't do anything until Q4.

What can Harden do for you?

 

This was the first time I've seen Harden play like a true superstar in a close game without over-reaching, without being an ISO-god and taking on double teams and shooting contested 3's.

Harden needs to keep doing this and take it to the basket and get to the line. And if he gets doubled, he will find the open man.

I just love how this team is playing right now on offense, with fluidity and grace and unselfishness.

 

Harden runs the pick and roll like it's nobody's business. He had Kevin Love so damn confused on how to defend him that James could get to the basket before Love even knew where he was.
