Trey Kerby from NBATV's The Starters picked it up & wrote a little feature. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>If you haven't checked my tweets yet, holler at this James Harden defense skills clip on <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TheStarters?src=hash">#TheStarters</a>: <a href="http://t.co/s0TONZvsEm">http://t.co/s0TONZvsEm</a></p>— Taco Trey Kerby (@treykerby) <a href="https://twitter.com/treykerby/status/542008547463405568">December 8, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Love that DM is pushing it, too. Two national narratives busted at one time (James is a defender, Morey cares about his players).
Thank you for this video - I think the best part was that it just didnt show steals that Harden has had because sometimes steals are not a great indicator of being a good defender. The clips of him being in good position, playing solid man to man defense, recovering and closing out on his man that are in this video are far better indicators of his leap in progress at being a good defender. Though I felt it would have been nice to include the steal he had late against Philly (at home) which turned the game around and gave the Rockets the lead. Even missing that crucial defensive play though - there is still more than enough to show though. I like the touch of sometimes having the opposing teams announcers comment on his improvement. It seems like its slowly making its rounds around the internet - though it hasn't hit the major media outlets just yet.

O.K. make a good 10 minute video using last years highlight. See you when you reemerge from your dungeon 6 months later after combing through all that video.
Thanks for sharing. What is there to break down in the video? He was at the right place at the right time, not to mention with great help defense. This was also just TEN minutes of the entire season. It doesn't even come close to telling the whole story. I just can't believe how quickly this video went viral, and how many people are retweeting it.
If somebody who did not know who James was and looked at the video, it would not be surprising to have that person conclude that: - One on one, James can guard 4 positions ( 1-4) effectively - Great transition defender - Good help defender - Excellent in reading passing lanes - Can take charges once in a while Consider the DPOY Marc Gasol, what other defense does he provide other than clogging up the lane?
