    There are some similar threads from a while back, but I’m too lazy to dig them up…and I wanted to make a gamer nerd joke for this thread title.

    Over the last few years, I’ve become the thing I once hated the most…a filthy mobile gamer. I’m currently playing a ton of Another Eden. It is a F2P gacha game with a pretty good story, no auto battles, no stamina (though there is a stamina-like system for some non-story content), pretty good music, pretty visuals, and a ton of content. It feels very much like a late 90s/early 2000s JRPG. If you look into who directed the game, it might make a bit more sense, but I kinda recommend you don’t do a lot of research about the game. I went in blind and really, really enjoyed the game because of it.





    These are from a recently released Chrono Cross collaboration, but they should give you a basic idea of overall quality. You might notice that they modified the game system to mimic the gameplay of Chrono Cross. They have similar collabs for Tales and Persona 5. From what I've played, these feel very much like those games too, not just cheap collabs. I have no idea how they got these rights. These are all permanent and the collab units are “free” as long as you complete the missions.

    The biggest downside to the game is that you’ll be doing a lot of grinding in order to get good units/equipment/etc., though if you decide to pay (a lot of) money or get lucky (like me), you can probably alleviate some of that. Honestly, I’m kinda used to grinding from other JRPGs and F2P games, so it doesn’t really bother me (especially since there’s so much content), but that can turn off some people. They just started their anniversary event, so now is probably a good time to get started and maybe avoid some of that stuff.



    Beyond that, I’m still playing Genshin Impact and a bit of Romancing SaGa Re: Universe. The latter is something I haven’t mentioned before, and while I have enjoyed it, the state of the game doesn’t seem all that great IMO. Very easy to get bored, even though I like the basic gameplay and systems. Just makes me want to play the actual games.

    John Wick in a turn-based tactical game. It works, even if it's a little unpolished. I think they could have done more with the music, too. Pushed up the tempo when the fight is getting towards the end, etc. Rather short game but very nuanced. 200+ hours in at this point, works well with Steam Link on my iPad.

    Just beat Skyrim again. Played and beat evil within 2 for the first time. Working on horizon getting ready for forbidden west. Trying to decide if I’m going with forbidden west or elden ring first. Leaning towards elden ring.

    Got Nintando Swatch O'LAD been playing tons of classic remastered games like BioShock, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, etc -- and streaming Rocket League soundtrack 24/7.

    Mario Odyssey has been taking up my free time. This game is amazing. I want all the moons and the damn ongoing level on the darker side of the moon is frustrating as hell.

    Mlb the Show. I gave up waiting for an available xbox series x and got it for my Xbox one. Definitely a challenging game for an admittedly weak gamer like myself.

    I only play PC games, so :

    Right now I'm playing :

    Forza Horizon 5 (played the hell out of this and am taking a break)
    Age of Empires IV (played the hell out of this and am taking a break, too)
    Jurassic World Evolution 2 (out of left field, but I like it... nothing great, but... nice time waster)​

    Next on my playlist will be one of these on my long list of crap I have in my Steam library "unplayed list" that i'm trying to whittle down :
