Get out of my brain. RPGs & Adventure games on SNES were my childhood. Back then I had several games I owned, plus I'd rent something every weekend. FF4, 6 & MQ Link to the Past Breath of Fire 1-3 Lufia 1 & 2 Secret of Mana Illusion of Gaia Paladin's Quest Chrono Trigger I also enjoyed: Super Mario World Knights of the Round Battletoads & Double Dragon GoofTroop TMNT IV: Turtles in Time The list could really go on forever. A big reason why my backlog of games grows every year is I spend so much time going back and playing classic games. I miss those days so much. I still can live some of them with my kids, but since most are 1 player type games, they usually just watch me. In my house right now, you could play FF4 on SNES, PS, GBA, DS, Wii, or my phone. My favorite game of all time.
Too many to name but I played these the most. Contra on the NES, was able to beat it without the code during my prime. I could get through all the levels so easily except one jump on the sixth level with all those flames coming out of the wall, always lose a life there. Uncharted Waters 2 on DOS, my favourite open world game of all time, played it for years. It also made Geography class too easy.
Yes. 6's flaw for me was probably the lack of a main character. Of course, one could say, why the hell did we keep gathering crystals for Golbez? Just leave them protected. Jeez.
Ah the nostalgia. I still remember those long Street Fighter II sessions with my cousin and many other great Super NES games like it was yesterday.
Some of these old games especially on the NES are bloody difficult. Just got done playing Batman on the NES while watching AS Saturday and I couldn't ****ing beat that b*stard Joker.
Chrono Trigger - Insanely advanced for SNES. Great soundtrack. Final Fantasy 7 - Obviously. Xenogears - Epic freakin' story. Chrono Cross - Best soundtrack in a game like, ever. Streets of Rage 2 - Best side-scrolling beat 'em up ever. X-Com: the UFO Defense - Better than the remake. King's Field 1 & 2 - Predecessors to Demon's/Dark Souls. Bushido Blade 1 & 2 - Because one-shot kills! And one-legged gimp fights! Defender of the Crown - Somehow this just never got old. Road Rash 3 - There need to be more of these. Powerball - Best made-up sports game ever.

Just to name a few: Legend of Zelda (1987) The game that started it all. I've actually never played another Zelda game, which seems bizarre even as I say it... I just never got around to them. Powerball (1991) My favorite early sports game. It's basically rugby. Fun to this day. Streets of Rage 2 (1992) Probably the best side-scrolling beat 'em up ever made. The fan-made remake is even better. X-COM: UFO Defense (1995) Strategy games have seldom been better than this. Build bases, develop technology, and send out soldiers to repel an alien invasion from Mars. I still prefer it to the remake, it's amazing how advanced this game really was. You can buy it on Steam for $5, go play! King's Field 2 (1996) From my favorite series of games ever. They're cult classics... most people hate them. But I've played through King's Field 2 about ten times now, and it just never gets old. Super Mario 64 (1996) 3D platforming has never been more fun than this. Goldeneye 007 (1997) Goldeneye 007 had an insanely long lifespan in an industry where most games are forgotten within weeks. I remember seeing it in the top 5 of EGM's best-selling games 18 months after release. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997) The best Castlevania ever made. Managed to combine 2D platforming and deep RPG elements into a single, seamless package. Quake 2 (1997) Everyone's favorite late-90s online shooter. Final Fantasy VII (1997) Some people think it's overrated, but it caused a huge boom in JRPG interest, and did a lot of things undeniably well, particularly in storytelling and graphics. Final Fantasy Tactics (1998) A grid-based, turn-based strategy RPG that got lost in the shadow of FFVII, despite that fact that it had a more mature story and much deeper strategy elements. ...and God forbid that I get into PS2 titles. Then the list gets at least twice as long. And these are just my very favorites, I've left lots of stuff out... Trojan, 8 Eyes, Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Mario 3, Golden Axe, the list just goes on...
Super metroid is a lifestyle. I've ****ed that game in the ass while listening to Doppelganger by fall of troy and De-loused in the Comatorium by the mars volta
