As a 90's kid who played most of these games mentioned, I give this thread two thumbs up.

Oh ok. I'm partial to the lazy game reviewer myself.

I think he reviews PC games? Not really my thing. I like the AVGN, the HappyConsoleGamer, Classic Game Room, Game Chasers and Gamester81 to name a few. RetrowareTV.com has the "Video Game Years", a really cool sort of documentary similar to VH1's I love the 80s/90s etc.

Yeah if you'll notice from my first post, I'm a pc gamer more than a console gamer. I'm a big fan of avgn also, maybe I'll check out some of the others you mentioned.

Because we played older games? Hahaha.

Ok. Nintendo 64 is retro then Nintendo entertainment system is prehistoric.
Atari is the Big Bang theory

In addition to a lot of the ones already here, I liked Soul Edge, or Soul Blade in the US.

Welcome to the stage of history.

You're overcomplicating it. Nintendo 64 and Atari 2600 are both retro consoles, simple as that. This thread wasn't made to get into these types of semantical discussions lol

Anyone like Super Mario RPG? Every time I'm reminded of my SNES emulator, I fire it up and give it a go or two. Beaten that game 4 times, I think.

You know how I can tell you were born in the mid/late 90's?

Anyone who lived through NES/SNES/VGA PC graphics knows how disappointing the N64 was. That catalog was smaller than the Juicy Juice you be sippin on. Not that there weren't great games (Goldeneye/Zelda Ocarina< Zelda Link/ Mario), but you waited years between those. Also, you can't ignore the dropoff in quality and gameplay bc they were trying to adapt to the graphical innovations. It's refreshing to see a gameplay centered experience re-surge on the smart phone platform.

And someone mentioned, I'm thinking satirically, "Nowadays, games are way too corporate, nowadays." That made me laugh.

Here are my favorites for the only two systems that matter:

    NES
    Contra
    Bionic Commando
    Mega Man 3
    Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!
    Faxanadu
    Final Fantasy
Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link
    Super Mario Bros. 3
    Rad Racer 2

    SNES
    Super Metroid
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    Chrono Trigger
    Final Fantasy 6
    Super Castlevania 4
    Super Mario World
    Final Fantasy 4
    Super Mario Kart

Also, I firmly believe that I am the best Contra player in the world. All the way through without dying and the regular gun (no power-ups).

Zelda is an adventure game not an RPG.

And well I wasn't dissappointed with the N64 at all, it didn't have the 3rd party support that it maybe needed to usurp the PS1 but it had some excellent 1st/2nd party games. Mario 64 is a landmark title that singlehandedly brought gaming into the 3rd dimension. Ocarina of Time is one of the GOAT(my favorite) and Goldeneye was one of the first FPS games. It may not have the library the NES and SNES had but it definitely holds its own imo.

Found this gem on youtube. Love all the nintendo games in the background. Lol at the nintendo dust cleaning kit. All you have to do once you insert the game is move the game around to connect the pin perfectly and then hit the reset buttons. It works after a couple of attempts.
