    Whhhhaaaaat???

I enjoyed the Simpsons, X-Men, TMNT sidescrollers fine in their day, but they do not hold up today at all. They have no depth. No grabs to speak of; you've pretty much got jump and hit. With SoR2 you had a wide variety of attacks you could do, and each character felt very different as well. Comparing Simpson to Streets of Rage is a joke. Complete joke.

Awesome I love that game. Still can't beat that visceral feeling of driving at mindnumbing speeds with the nunchucks out and smacking some dude off his bike, flipping his ass 20 ft in the air and crushing him under an incoming car!

The best part of the game was kicking, stomping, and smacking other bikers while winning took a backseat. A great selection of weapons, road hazards and enough distractions to cause widespread mayhem. Look at some of the videos, I love how the limited technology allowed for minimal distance rendering so you had like seconds to judge what was in front of you until you hit that damn car or pedestrian which ejected you 50 feet onto incoming traffic. Notice how the ****ty physics actually allowed for more fun and chaos. The blinding speed, roller coaster bumps in the road. Plus messing with the cops was always my favorite part. I would let them chase me right into a wall or another car. It's the most enjoyable racing game I've ever played.

    Here's some crazy gameplay

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bvD8NydSA4I&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bvD8NydSA4I&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Also a while back some artist did a previsual for a potential next gen game
Looks epic fun to grab a biker and just toss his ass off the bike plus the road sign as a freaking weapons is genius!

I sold my Saturn awhile back for crap cause I was desperate for the money. I also sold off Dragon Force and Guardian Heroes for $50 each, each game was practically worth as much as the system.

I think if you have the Japanese Saturn, you could play DF2... but they're pretty pricey on eBay.

Just YouTube'd the Game Boy Advance version, looks okay... Playing it on a Gameboy couldn't live up to playing it on the Saturn.

Wish they'd put Guardian Heroes on the Xbox Live Arcade in HD, I'd be on the versus mode all day.

This was also one of my favorite games from back in the day, used play this 3 players with the Multi-Tap on the SNES.

Game is sick, easily one of the greatest games of all-time, wish they'd come out with a updated version.

Do you know where to get this english version ROM? Link

You didn't say anything about Final Fight. This to me is the best. Right next to Double Dragon and Battletoads. Streets of Rage is good but it's just a rip-off off Final Fight. Most of the characters models for the bad guys are the same. I was waiting for Andre to pop-up on Streets. And Haggar can man handle any of the Streets of Rage characters. :p But we both can agree they both have the compelling feature of garbage food. There is nothing better then finding a whole chicken or ham in the trash.

    This always takes me back.

Oh sure, Final Fight is real good too, far above the TMNT/Simpsons crap.

Streets of Rage is certainly a rip-off of Final Fight. But it's a very, very good rip-off. The 1st game I don't think was quite as good as Final Fight perhaps, but #2 was an improvement.

    SoR1 < FinalFight < SoR2

Yeah it was Guy which if I remember correctly was put in the first Final Fight later as like a special snes game. I vaguely remember it being call like Final Fight with Guy or something to that extent . It's a good game. Fun Fact (Him and Cody one of the other playable characters have been fighters in some of the street fights titles, while Haggar has only been a fighter in another SNES title Saturday Slam Masters.)
There were two other characters for the Final Fight 3 but I can't remember who they are right now. Don't think I played that one but a few times.

I guess I just don't have the love for it since I grew up with an SNES and have only recently played Streets of Rage due to the lack of a Genesis as a kid. Now I understand why it was a rip-off due to Final Fight being an exculsive SNES game. But Idk having Haggar scream YEAH beats that stupid kid skating around the damn screen. But there is one beat um up game that has the coolest feature. Killing your enemy by making them dance. Still one of my favorites....and no I'm not joking. Really like this game.

Last time I played this game I was 10. And I loved the movie. Don't judge me. Joe Pesci is in it dammit. What other game features a 80's pop culture star and mob gangster........

I loved the game at the time too. I don't think it would hold up today though for the reasons described in the video :D

Star Control 2. One of my all time favorites. Mass Effect borrowed heavily from this game (Protheans = Precursors, Reapers = Ur Quan) so maybe I can consider it remade already.

Oh, I should mention there's a very version of Star Control 2 that you can download and play available at http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

Still a fun game to play today.

Yeah if I played it today, I would probably be like WTF is this  . It would probably be like that with the movie too. Vaguely remember the plot line with Michael trying to save that little girl from Joe Pesci and then for some reason turning into a robot near the end........Need to look for the VHS copy somewhere in my house.

Almost all the games I'm looking up already have some kind of sequel, later remake, or using the same characters. Its just hard to make money in the video game industry so they're probably not going to let something profitable go by too long.

It'd be hilarious if Atari tried to remake ET for some redemption 30 years later.

They have recent sequels to Pitfall, from average to decent.

Seems all the console versions of Indy games suck except for a couple early PC games.

Indy and the Infernal Machine on N64 had potential to be okay. But MAN the controls to it were agonizingly HORRIBLE.
