This. DMo has become a very solid defender.

There is an argument that DMo haters bring out - it's that his solid defense is against other team's bench big men. So what? DMo couldn't do anything against bench players in his rookie year, now he's literally locking them up to terrible shooting percentages. The guy has improved a ton on the defensive end.

The play where Canaan drives and DMo backs into the corner to create a driving lane for Canaan, and then catches and fires when the defender stays in to help on Canaan, is a play that Terrence would never make. If only DMo could be consistent at it.

That's the thing. I think mental aspect plays a huge role in this. DMo somehow strikes me as a bit of an introvert - I think he needs to become more confident in his game.

My hope for DMo was fading and then he teased me with a nice game again.

I agree with those who say that he needs a defined role on offense that uses his skills, and trains hard for it. He's not the kind of guy like Jones, who can freelance, pick his spot, and collect garbage on his own.

DMo played crappy for his NT(he did have some good games, but overall, his overall performance was poor), and he is playing crappy right now for Houston. I know his defense improved, i like DMo very much, but his lacking offensive game is very much obvious. I can only hope he can use this performance to turn this season around, but i dont have much faith tbh. He isnt defensive stopper or rebounding machine, i know hes better in those departments than last year, but if he cant score, then you might as well just give his minutes to Dorsey (better rebounder, better defender overall, cant score as well).

What DMo should develop is a reliable 15 footer from the FT line. Since he's not able to post up, he should look for other spots.

When he's the 5, he's always positioned atop the key. A few steps in and that's the FT line already. He needs a go-to move to release pressure from defenses crowding our 3pt shooters.

The D-Mo hate is simple minded. He is still a young and unique asset. As a valuable asset he needs to be built up instead of torn down, whether the goal is to trade him or develop him.

The overreaction and negativity is asinine.

Howard's shot is crap. DMO's is not. It should be going in more, a lot more, than it has. Perhaps they are not ignoring him, but compared to Dwight, how much help is he really getting? I don't see him going to Cali to work with training specialists. He trains at the TC and with his country's team. Is Dream working with him as much? Watching tape with him?

If you found out he was, would you be disappointed in his development? I'd say so. I just can't imagine him getting that much help and only improving little from last season, offensively. I think it's more likely he's not getting as much help.

What really is dumb-founded is when people think a washed up guy like Metta World Peace could actually be worth more or perform better at this stage than DMO. The guy is 7ft tall and quite quick footed for sure. Just that fact alone makes him an effective help defender and the only 7fter left when Dwight's not available. He might and can eventually develop into something better with more NBA game experience.

If D-Mo can get 14 points and 10 rebounds per 36 and play the type of lock down help defense he currently plays he certainly could be a starting center for over half the teams in this league. He is currently sitting at 9.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per 36. He already has the hard part, the defense, down pat. No club in their right mind would give up on D-Mo now.

I don't understand why D-mo just cant get more touches. We would rather play perimeter bball than allow one of our best post players get opportunities. We have no patience at all when it comes to posting up and getting him the ball

Yea people giving up on Dmo are dumb. He is a young player in the NBA and a big man. Give him time. A few weeks ago people were giving up on Canaan ,now that has been given consistent minutes and his confidence has sky rocketed he has turned into a really valuable player.

While I understand the frustration with Dmo, He hasnt had a stretch where he gets consistent minutes and touches to build his confidence. Because that is what is holding him back. He has post up skills , prob more than dwight, Good size , quick feet , shooting touch, and has played decent defense. if he puts it together he could be dangerous.
Like we would all be pissed if San Antonio and Pop got there hands on him , because he would def make something out of those skills.

    Just be patient.
