He looked horrible in the first half....2 awful turnovers....and then great in the 4th quarter.... Let's hope he gets the jitters out early and plays well going forward. DD
He had better so he can be the starting SG ASAP. Ariza/Battier at the wings isn't going to cut it. Tonight was a disaster watching those two try to be scorers.
I have agreed with you although I held hope that Ariza would suddenly be a competent ball-handler and Shane would be decent in the post. My optimism is officially dead.
For a moment there I thought he was going to get a goose egg for the game. But the scouting report is right. He needs to be a bit more assertive if he wants more mins. And what was coach doing putting him on Roy when you know his defense isn't that good. I didn't get that.
They guy can lulll you to sleep sometimes...... he might look slow and lathargic sometimes but when he decides to play with some fire and intensity , he can blow by you and dunk on your face. Trust me-its a double edged sword an Arizona fan like me had to live with for 3 years.
gotta admit i didn't see that in bud before he did that dunk. it's a nice idea for a brent berry v.2, though.
Towards the end, when he was playing with some FIRE, he stayed in front of Roy and forced to shoot two jumpers in the high key area on iso plays designed for Roy. He did let him drive past him once but other than that he played admirably.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Mcgrady, Shane & Ariza playing at the same time. I wonder if Adelman will try this.
