Pretty much but I know I missed a few. These are strictly since I started watching Rox BB in 86(Really 87 but Sampson is a classic).
AB was great tonight, except letting Rondo pick his pocket a few times. My opinion of AB has been steadfast throughout. One of his greatest strengths, or his confidence in that strength, is his greatest weakness. He's such a gifted shooter/scorer that sometimes he gets mentally lazy and starts chucking and going ISO, does not explore all his options. That's why I think Lowry not being that good of a shooter makes him a better decision maker at times because he explores his options like a QB going through his checkdowns, he doesn't have the luxury of being a great shooter like AB.
Cold bloody 3 from AB! Good to see him hit that shot and forced the OT and finally we took the last laugh!
I concur with you. I honestly think of him as a shoot first pass second guard. He has never been an unwilling passer, but scoring is his biggest strength. He will get better gradually as a passer. Bone headed mistakes do happen from him because he looks to score first, but he is fearless. That is what I really like about him.
I can agree with all the above, but for a team to be a championship team, it has to have a consistently "very good-to-great" player(s). AB is very inconsistent, but while he may never become a better scorer, defender, or playmaker, he may turn out to be more consistent at what he already does. His 2 biggest knocks as a point guard are : he is not a great passer, and for every 25 points he puts up, he seems to give up 20-30. And when Yao comes back, if AB's scoring role is scaled back, will his passing and playmaking ability make up for it (because I doubt his D ever will)? I also believe AB has gotten better, but I don't want to get carried away with that fact simply because he is no longer having to defer to TMac or Yao - he is now often option 1 or 1b in the offense along with Scola (or Martin when healthy). He's obviously going to be scoring more and getting more looks because he is the focus of the offense. But all-in-all, I'm impressed with Dork Elvis' ability to pluck players and by Adelman's ability to run an offense. About the only huge negative I've seen in this team this season is the fact that our defense seems to be shot (even with a healthy Battier and Ariza). I hope we find that again next season. I'm also content with the AB/Lowry tandem alternating at PG or even playing together on the court. I'm hoping that this may be a team that makes up for its individual deficiencies by playing team ball and covering for one another. If AB can still contribute when Yao gets back, then all the better.
The Budinger 3 in OT was just about as clutch...i thought we were slippin away and he nailed that dagger.
Can someone post Jordan's block in OT? That block was a HUGE play in a game with a number of HUGE plays.
This, PLEASE. I didn't get to see the game at all, so I would love to download the full game (whenever someone uploads it) or see highlights.
The lowry bank runner in traffic, this shot and the Budinger 3 pointer in the corner were all huge shots and that Jordan Hill block in OT to keep the lead was solid as well. Best game I've seen in quite some time.
When are the people that continually b**** and moan about AB gonna stop? During the game there were so many people posting in the game thread and were all over him for various reasons. I'm sick of people complaining about the turnovers while trying to create, he's gotten better pulling up for the midrange jumper. He's gonna turn it over some, he has the ball in his hands every trip down, what do you expect? He's becoming more and more clutch with every game. This is his first full year as a starter people! Will you please shut up!? Also the same people complaining, two seconds later will praise him for a solid play. Stop jumping off and on the bandwagon and just realize this guy is a damn good player, improving and I for one am more than happy he's a Rocket. So please bandwagoners, shut your pie holes
