Was wondering what kind of expectations fans have for this guy. We hear a lot of talk about bringing him over for next season to shore up our point guard position. Personally, I have never seen him play, so I don't know what to expect. I'm a little skeptical of the Euro route after our Boki experiment.

Not sure since I've never seen him play, but I do seem to recall Carroll Dawson saying that VSpan WILL be on the roster next season.

Anybody else remember him saying that? Maybe have a link?

I want him to be good. I want him to come in next year and make an impact. I want him to be something of a Tony Parker for us.

But truth be told I am very skeptical. CD's record as a European Talent scout is pathetic at best.

    Mirsad Tarkan over Rashard Lewis?!?

Someone pass me what he had been smoking that day. Must be really potent.

Well you didn't give enough options IMO. He might be somewhat effective, but not what you would call an impact player. He might go through the motions as a Rockets PG, or he might just play a few minutes here and there. Who knows. I think he won't be much good, so I chose European scrub.

Less than 10% of this board knows enough about the guy to make an educated judgement despite the fact 65% of the board pretends to...

Well, the rockets don't have a very good track record of developing talent. So I think he's not going to make that much of an impact cause JVG won't really let him on the floor to much.....

I am not sure why people are So high on this guy- he is no Sarunas to even be having this poll. He is not going to be here anytime soon.

He has a teamate that would cause much more damage here in NBA.
Sharpshooter, great passer and very smart all-around player Lakovic.

Never heard anything bad about V-Spann, seems like a tough, solid bench combo guard, although I remember he didn't get a lot of PT on the Greek national team in last summer's international (FIBA?) tournament.

Wasn't bochi like Skitti's 2nd backup or some other Euro scrub like that and we spent the 15th pick in the first round on somebody averaging 1 point as a 3rd teamer? Let's hope they are doing more homework this time!!

Tskitishvili was Nachbar's backup. Yet he was a few years younger and was drafted ahead because of greater "potential".

I don't know much about Rockets' history in scouting talents but who drafted Yao that year for Rockets must be a genius. :D

So if they said Spanoulis is good, Spanoulis is good. :)

Seriously, I think many European players are talented enough to play in NBA. It is the club's development plan on these players that determined them being successful or eventually turned out to be a bust in the league. As long as V-Span can shoot, can pass, he will find his seat in our locker room.
